Who would you vote a better, more fun enemy. Personally, I thought that Fables Jack of Blades was more entertaining and more in depth as a character then Fable II's Lucien. I believe some of the missions for defeating Jack of Blades really connected me to the game more then the missions for defeating Lucien.

For example, the mission in Fable. When you need to free your mother. You race through dungeons and rack down skeletons and corrupt soldiers. And when I get caught I felt afraid for my character. I cringed when I saw the blood covered floors. And heard the screams when my character was lead away for torture. Even when I had to race against other slaves to save my characters life. I feel it really connected me with my character. And for that sake my characters birth mother.

Although there is a similar mission when you are at the shrine in Fable II. I never felt connected with the same amount of depth as I did for the missions involving Jack of Blades. And in that case, don't only answer the question "Jack of Blades vs. Lucien?", but answer "Fable vs. Fable II?" Let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

Ooops.

I think someone posted in the wrong area.

BTW! Just a hint... When you wanna end a potentially discussion-worthy thread with a question, don't follow it with a different question that requires hours and hours of explanation and debate while remaining ENTIRELY UNRELATED to your initial question.

:)

Jack/Fable TLC > Lucien/Fable II in almost every way except the level of sophistication.

Fable (and The Lost Chapters) was overall better than Fable II, but Fable II did have some features better than Fable and the story was by no means bad. No, Fable II is a great game, Fable is just greater. Fable III though might be the best one yet, I think and hope, because not only has it evolved from Fable II, it has brought back some great things from Fable. Or at least that's the impression I've got, with the combo chaining being back and such.

And Jack of Blades was a personality, Lucien was a paranoid sociopath. And not the fun kind (like Light from Death Note XD).

Light was a selfish arrogant ass, who couldn't see past his own nose, and used people to further his own personal gain which were under the guise of twisted morals and a god-complex, all while contradicting itself by him turning into the thing he saught to the rid the world of. Not to mention his ego caused his ultimate DEATH. Light was a bawbag. :p

... Spoiler alert.

This.

Lucien lacked so much key bad guy character. JoB was badass in many more ways than Lucien.

Ha Jack of Blades took at least a minute or 2 to beat even for a maxed out character what did you get with that bitch Lucien "BANG!" crumple.... die..... at that momen of beating the game (for the first of 12 times) all I could think was "Wait that's it?.... I play this game for so many hours and that's it?.... your seriously not going to at least turn into a giant monster or some ****?..... man i so wish you could crouch in this game so I could teabag the **** out of his pathetic corps....... I need some nachos.....

Exactly. A fun psychopath.

But he wasn't fun. He was a predictable, poorly written, 2 dimensional character...

Well, all of the characters in deathnote were.

I'd agree with most people that jack of blades was definitely a better enemy. Plus there was so much lore about him that it really tied him into the game. Lucien was just the current person in charge. He didn't really build up a legacy for himself. I mean if it wasn't Lucien it would've been whichever crazy ruler wanted the power of the spire next.

I think that's pretty much the idea, that Lucien wasn't a grand master criminal or evil lord, just a bad man who killed your sister and tried to restore the Spire, most likely for some evil purpose although I don't think we ever got to know what he wanted/needed it for.

He wanted it to bring back his wife and daughter or something like that, I know it says it in the game a couple of times

Oh right... how could I forget that? It's in the first speech in the game... '''orz

Anyway, my point is that unlike Jack of Blades, Lucien was more of a replaceable character. It's not about him being super evil and stuff, it's about what he did and how you want retribution for your sister's death. It would have happened even if Barnum was the maniac who killed your sister and had the Spire rebuilt.

He did at first, but then he wanted to wipe out civilization and build a new, pure one in its place.

Kinda like god sent the flood. Was it really that evil of him? Cities where slum. Whores lined the streets, children had no parents, schools where closing, Job market was bad. I mean maybe it wouldn't of been that bad.
