Mostly everyone has heard that saying flung around once or twice. It relates to the going to a fan signing or asking for a selfie on the street and you end up being disappointed with the attitude of whomever you're fangirling over. Maybe they're having a bad day. Fair enough. But it does tend to ruin your opinion on them. Also hearing something negative about them over the airwaves has the same effect.

For example, since The Witcher Netflix series came out I had a teeny, tiny crush on Henry Cavill. Then I learned he had a thing for younger women. Some a little too young and while it's true it was just rumours, for me the crush ended pretty quick. Not because I was too old for him(lol) but because ew, icky.

Any one else have any similar stories?

Craig Charles called me a smeghead once. And the British bulldog squeezed my neck. Oh and Omar the pornstar, he spilled my drink.

That's about it.

I feel like there’s a lot more story to these. I’m especially interested in the British Bulldog one with being a wrestling fan myself.

I havent had any 'bad' experiences with any of the people I met but most interesting ones were...

Bumped into Jacoby Shaddix (Papa Roach) at a bar after a Papa Roach set and he bought me a beer and invited us to his tour bus, also my friends band (False Pretence) ended up opening for them at a stadium gig in Germany after winning a vote on their website and said they were amazing, really down to earth and spent a lot of time with them sharing stories and asking questions about their band.

Also met lead singer of Skindred (Benji Webbe) again after a gig in a nearby bar and he was really cool and had a lot of time for people. Pretty sure he has a DJ night at some local bars these days too.

Spoke at length to the former lead singer of Faith No More/Bad Brains (Chuck Mosley) who was going through some really hard times and fighting drug addiction and didn't mind talking openly about it. He was asking if he could stay with people as he didn't have the money to afford hotels even though he was on a sold out tour (he said he didn't see much of the money), unfortunately he died shortly afterwards of a drug overdose. :(

Met guys from Black Tide (who were the youngest band to ever play Ozzfest) lead singer was 13 when they were opening for Static-X, Lamb of God, and Ozzy Osbourne and they toured with Avenged Sevenfold. I didnt realise he was so young and said I would buy him a beer for an awesome set and he said 'Thanks man but i'm not legal'. I laughed and said drinking age was 18 in the UK and not 21 and he replied 'Im 13...' it blew my mind that he was so young and I ended up buying a shirt of theirs instead.

I later learned they had actually been removed from the main stage at Ozzfest because it was sponsored by Jägermeister and they were underage so were dropped down to the 2nd stage. My cousin wanted to give them something instead and the only thing he could find in his pocket was a random toy car a younger relative had put there and they laughed and said it was most random thing anyone had given them and they put it on top of the speakers for the rest of the tour.

Just a shame that they changed their style over the years as their first album for a band so young was incredible. They naively listened to record labels and moved away from what made them sooo good.

Got quite a few (now framed) autographs from bands/singers over the years and I have spoke to quite a few more but those were only in passing.

I think my closest thing to a brush with fame is the couple of times I’ve helped my local MP at my job. He’s a nice guy atleast.

How did he react? Did he need to have his foot amputated!?:LOL:

Nothing but positive experiences. Which is cool and all but where are my stories of anguish and disappointment, Andy!?

Bret Hart was going to be at a local convention a few years back and I offered to pay for Scott and I to go and he was like “Not like it’s Jake Roberts or Austin - save your money!”

Not a clue - I was trying to get to the disabled toilet during the interval of a Bill Bailey standup at Wembley and quite frankly he was in my way and didn't move in time.

Girl needs to pee, man with pint in each hand needs to move.

When you're butt height for everything, you have surprisingly little patience for people who can walk...
