Installed it and seriously, no difference. It's not that there's so much screen tear or the colors are bad, it just feels slow. There's really no way to describe it unless you have the controller in your hands yourselves and move the Camera stick around, it just feels really clunky and like it's running at 30 FPS
It is running at 30fps. All console versions of Fable (and most games on consoles) run at or below 30fps.

Mine runs fine and I think it's still really pretty. I think it's nicer lookin than Fable 2, but my buddy says it's not. Just up to the person.

No, Arseface, we have to ask if it's plugged in, first.

It might just be the comparison between the original PC version and the 360. I'm used to PC frame rates, and Fable 2 kind of threw me, because it wasn't as pretty as I remembered Fable 1 being, either, but once you get past worrying about the control scheme and frame rate, the game is really fun.

Stick with it, bwanmuffins. You can do it!

The tearing is pretty bad. Mine is installed and still got it. I understand your pain Bwan, but i'm definitely a bigger fan than you. I pushed through that, now all I wanna do is keep playing just to see what happens!

Holy s***, that looks a lot cleaner for some reason
I know exactly what you mean. The demonstration build I played at the Eurogamer Expo '10 was silky smooth to play; it honestly felt like it was running on a high performance PC with a near-constant 60FPS fluidity. However, from what I've seen and heard of most PAL copies, it's not nearly the same as the demo build.

Edit: Just to clarify: I played on the 360 version at the Expo.

With fable 2 intalling made all the difference. It since it reads directly from your hard drive. Also, since the disk isn't spinning your system wont heat up as much.

I appreciate it Hish, y'know I'm finding the more I run around the world, the more I find myself immersed into the whole experience.. graphical hits aside, I think I'm starting to like it more and more, the 3D map look is a nice touch, the voice-acting, and the humor all round it into one pretty pleasant package, it's just unfortunate that the graphics took such a hit from what I remember in the first Fable. It also kinda bothers me how the mouths don't sync all too well with the brilliant voice acting, you think developers would get that down pat by now.

Ahh, I see.. that's pretty unfortunate. I mean I know games aren't and shouldn't be entirely dependent on eye-candy and all, but overall feel, I think is pretty important and a smooth game translates into the important responsiveness you want to get out of playing the game.. if that makes any sense hahaha.

So, might it be the fact you're using a PAL copy? :|

Because that now has me worried.

I have absolutely no idea what PAL is.. I live in California? If that helps.. is that something to do with the coding of the game (regional)?

PAL is European/Oceanic, and NTSC is American/Japanese. To commit a sin and quote Wikipedia:
"The term PAL is often used informally to refer to a 625-line/50 Hz (576i), television system, and to differentiate from a 525-line/60 Hz (480i) NTSC system."

There, now, you've learned your new thing for today and can go back to playing Fable. :) For those of you wondering, my PAL copy seems quite fine.
