Regardless of how interesting I consider the possibility of the 'true threat'/Theresa's little mysterious goals; I simply want to play as a character that refuses to be guided along on a string, someone who has enough dialogue options to question Theresa and even rebel against her wishes - as one was, somewhat, able to do with Kreia in TSL.

Apologies, a bit off-topic there.

Has anybody thought that maybe Theresa can see into the void? After all she states how she can see many worlds. So it is entirely possible she sees the coming evil, and knows what must be done to stop it. As for a motive I like the idea of her life being bound to Albion.

Also there is no proof that JoB is dead or alive. So it may be him, or some greater evil controlling the crawler.

Oh god, I HATE all this Theresa vs the Void stuff! She was kind of cool in Fable 1 but her character has been butchered in Fable II and III. I mean, in Fable 1 she poped up occasionally to give cryptic clues and talk about presents. In Fable II she is the mysterious powerful seer who is manipulating everyone for her own ends. Her personality has just been so warped! I hope that she doesn't really appear in anymore Fable games but I know there will be people who complain, but her constant reappearing just detracts from the Fable experience.

[about Theresa] Her personality has just been so warped!
Yeah well, she has lived for 500+ years. That's bound to do something to your mind.
If I lived forever, I don't think I'd care much for a random hero who'll be dead 50 years later anyway.

The nine seas surround Albion, but to the North is the Wasteland. Some say there's nothing, and others that it is Jack of Blade's true home. The old Scribes say that it was once a mighty empire before the glaciers came. Libraries of arcane knowledge still exist beneath the ice, and those who once lived there sleep deeply beneath the cold blanket, ready to reawaken when the time comes and Albion is ruled again by one man.

it's rather obvious that JoB is coming back at one time or another he is manipulating the darkness and theresa is manipulating the heroes it's like a chess game

It would be amazing if JoB came back. But only on one condition, they need to use the voice from the first Fable, the cold, sinister and psychopathic voice. Not the cliché deep toned 'demon' voice from TLC. That voice was horrid.

Don't think he'll come back, but yeah. the cold sinister voice was WAY better than that deep lame voice they gave him with TLC.

I say, if in doubt, blame chesty! I'd say the crawler was a minion of chesty, twisted to insanity because he wasnt chesty's super best friend after the hero in fable 2 had his encounter with him, and thus wants his revenge on albion and its king!

Also, i'd love to see chesty being the main storyline boss in fable 4 :D

Alright, I have started this topic to discuss The Crawler. There is many things suppecious about him.
  • During one scene, the Crawler admits that it has been waiting centuries to attack Albion. This may or may not hint at a relation with the original Fable.
  • He says "You wish the Dark Void" Which may be of Reference to the Void of which JoB, QoB, and KoB came from a.k.a. The Court
  • Also mentions "Did the Blind Seer not Warn you about us?" most likley referencing Theresa because, I don't think there are any other Blind Seers in Albion.
There is probably a lot more that could be supicious. If you would like to discuss your ideas, please go ahead. Also, if you have any other supicions please share them and I will Credit you and put it up here if its good.
I can tell you this, Lionhead was really sloppy when it came to fable 3, there is alot of bugs and misplaced objects, so i guess they wont do so much in fable 4 ( if it comes out ) eighter, and i bet that the crawler was just a manifest, like a host or something, the darkness is not over, i can tell you that...

Alrighty so I read this all while all your points are valid heres what I think:

1. The whole good vs. evil theory is valid but a bit flawed, Fable is more based on the doing whatever you want and placing your character in different roles. Now Maybe Jack of Blades will return but he will be completely different, not just that he wasn't exactly that powerful to begin with

2. Theresa is a manipulative bitch who granted may have the greater good in mind but perhaps due to the trama in her life she is intent on protecting or is still a child at heart with great knowledge.

3. the Crawler defiantly a minion, there is some greater evil but whether there is going to be a day where we see this great evil is another thing entirely. As for it being Jack of Blades he may be brought back, but Scythe AKA William black has a greater chance of returning due to the fact we KNOW hes still alive. Same with Rose she could very well return as well.

Again all are theories and thats just what I think not knocking anyone. Thats just my personal theory. Thank you for you time.

He's kinda cute in the same way that the Cloverfield monster was cute, minus that he's not a lost baby monster who's just frustrated and lost.

They set the Crawler story up so they could go many different ways if they want. They could make it lead to the Void and JoB, or it could have nothing to do with that. Or someone else from the void more powerful than JoB could be controlling it.

Who knows, but it's fun to speculate.

The Void =/= Jack of Blades, boys. I whipped him twice. He can bring it if he likes, but his ass should be black and blue at this point. I'm hot and bothered for The Void itself and the mystery that comes with it, not simply one inhabitant of The Void that we know like the back of our hands.I would hope to think that something like The Void would not be so shallow as to revolve around one little boss. Even if he was really cool.

Anyways, I would love if The Void was a part of Fable IV. The Court was destroyed, but that doesn't mean The Void changed at all. It's a deeply interesting side of Fable lore, and would tie the games together nicely. Compared to Theresa being nearly the only common factor, not to mention being completely vague and undeveloped, I'd say make use of all of these books for once. It's funny that they write all of these things and scatter them around of no real reason, and yet the storylines make no use of them.

The Crawler was awesome. I think I may have gone slightly meth-head on him when he mentioned The Void. I liked him as a villain, but that bit actually got me involved. Unfortunately he was not even an issue until the end of the game, though, so I don't know for sure that they will even make an obscure reference to him or The Void in the next game. Even if it does make sense and feel dark and epic to think about, they don't always build on what we feel needs to be built up. Scythe was mentioned in the letter from Rose in F2, but being the badass that he is they would obviously want to slowly erase his existence. Shining a bit of light on Theresa's dark side would open up a whole new side of the story, but that has yet to be done. Don't get your hopes up about this.

The franchise is gradually moving away from the fantasy RPG genre anyways - for all we know we could be fighting cyborg minions that bow to the Stomper of Chickens in the next installment. That sounds rather enjoyable though... so don't get your hopes up about that either.
