I remember playing Fable on Xbox, going all good, but keeping the super sword at the end and dooming the future... shows that that epilogue knows, however I am not the die-hard Fable fan in that I've researched the back story or even know what the canon is for the whole thing.

Earlier this summer, I finally got around to buying the Fable 2 GOTY ed and playing it. Thankfully, my major complaint from Fable 2 has been addressed in Fable 3- if you're playing as a female, you're no longer pigeon-holed into looking like a roid-raging freak covered head to toe in blue or red 'cracks' (aka will lines) through leveling up.

In fact, I'm quite pleased in how your character doesn't get too out of hand in Fable 3 aside from being noticeably taller. And we no longer have to suffer the lingering halo, etc. I much prefer the 'charged up' animations.

Some of my other concerns from Fable 2 were also addressed in that doing expressions doesn't cause EVERYONE around to fall in love and follow you around like idiots- I like that you actually have to work for it now. Also, that women can now use protection in bed with another woman and that you can find your kids at the orphanage if you get a divorce, or are widow(er)ed. While I'm thinking of it, the autograph cards being removed from inventory is a plus as well.

There are some things however, that continue to drive me nuts.

First off- why can't I CLOSE a bloody door after entering a home I own? There was nothing worse in Fable 2 than taking a lovely lady home to shag and having half the town follow and watch. It also has creeped into Fable 3 in that if too many people love you, they will once again follow you into your home and pester you.

Secondly, why am I responsible personally for everyone that gets killed in the game? It's fine if I'm playing all evil and such, but I hate being called a 'murderer' and other nasty things when a random PC dies- of course, that may be more due to glitches than anything else.

As for the menus, which really threw me for a loop... well, I'm getting used to it, but I'd rather be able to select the expression I want to use, rather than wait for it to come up in the 'queue' (I have no idea how to spell that, is that right?...off to dictionary.com...ha! got it right on the first try). The pared-down inventory system is ok. I found that late in games in Fable 2, I'd simply have tons and tons of inventory that I'd simply have to unload from time to time because 5 versions of everything got a bit crazy.

As for suggestions for future Fable games, just a couple.

1. Give your spouse something to do around the house, ie plant and tend a garden. Having them wander and wander around makes it difficult to keep track of them sometimes- especially when you are trying to find them if they have a gift for you! Also, let them use the upkeep money to actually shop and make improvements to the house as they wish- or spend it on gambling and drinking and become really dysfunctional if that's in their personality.

2. If you're making Royal Decisions again, please have things continue to drain the treasury over time and allow us to go back to a character like Hobbs (or whatever his name was) and change some of the decisions like tax rate and the alcohol policy- if there is one 'good' decision I regret making in Fable 3, it's relaxing the alcohol rules. While comical at first, it quickly becomes annoying and distracting.
For example, after beating the main quest in Fable 3, I wish he was still down in the treasury and you could interact with him looking at the decisions you made, seeing how long you had until you had to make a decision on things like tax and social programs (things that could be implimented that change character behavior).

I'm sure I had more to talk about like on the state of multiplayer, etc as in this series trying to be more "Jack of all trades and master of none" instead of really making some aspects great, but this is all I have off the top of my head right now.

Yes!! I hate everyone following me in my home! They could have an option where you can make your home private, open to friends, or open to everyone.

This is small and stupid, but did the hollowmen have guns in fable 2?? Haha. Punks...
and the Balverines are much harder for me to kill for some reason, I cant even stand to fight them. What would you recommend is the best way to take care of them?

Balverines are definitely harder this time around - mostly because there are so many of them at once! If you can't pick most of them off before they see you with a rifle then I use a force push mixed with shock spell to knock them back and also keep them in one place with the lightning bolts. It also takes off a good chunk of health so you can get rid of them however you prefer after that

For Balverines I make it a habit to take 2 shots with my *insert rifle name here* and then roll back. One usually dies after 4 or so if you didnt charge it up. Alternatively you can use magic. The weave Angel suggested seems to work best. Sometimes for the fun of it, I just charge in with my sword and see what happens. I love the killing moves for Balverines. =P

Balvarines are all about timing blocks and rolls. They have one unblockable attack, the charge. When you hear the loud howl/roar they are preparing for a charge (usually only occurs when they are far away from you) at this point roll like crazy. They have big swipes that can be blocked when you figure out their jump pattern which used to be 2-3 hits then jump now they will jump after just one hit. They used to have a predisposition to your back and now they jump aol over but you can usually expect them to be close by so just hit once then charge up a flourish and be ready to change direction.

When fighting a pack finishers are your friend.

Note : they use a combo slash move that can be blocked at any time just don't sit there spamming attacks or rolls a simple block will stop them and push them back. Very useful.

The combo fireball + vortex spell is my favorite, and works well on Balverines... but maybe I'm just a sadist that likes watching enemies get sucked up into my own personal tornado... MUAHAHAHAHA!! :p

The fact that you stopped in the middle of writing a post to check the dictionary for correct spelling made my day. I <3 spelling and grammar. Seriously :)
