Gold Guide
by DarkONI, Last Edit: November, Saturday 6 2010

You have wondered many times “how the h**l I will rise the amount of Gold I need for endgame?” (Or “why I’m so poor? I’m the king!”) Well this guide will aid you into the monetary part of your revolution! Regardless of your experience with business, money and anything monetary-like I hope that this guide will aid you. (And if you like it, click on the like button!) Oh, every “chapter” of the guide has an unique code (Listed in the appendix) So, if you are interested into only one part of the guide then simply copy and CTRL+F (Find) the code in the text.

Appendix
A001 – Social Skills
A002 – Shops
A003 – Landlord
A004 – Xbox Live
A005 – Sum Up

Part One: Social Skills
A001

At the very beginning of the game, you will meet a lot of people. However, you will lack of the ability to make friends, buy their houses (wait, mine isn’t on sale!) and to buy shops. Therefore, the best thing you can do is trying to raise your relationship with the people around you.

Whenever your relationship is good with the people around you, you will have an easy time to earn their friendship through doing their mini-quests which will give you a good amount of entertainment and gifts (perhaps I meant glitches)

Once you have unlocked the friendship pack from The Road to Rule the best thing is to make some friends which will give you gifts over time (gems, household items and other various things) which have some value at the local pawnbrokers.

I know that working on social skills in Fable III takes a long time, but I promise, it pays off a lot when you have a huge amount of brilliant gold in your treasury or into your kingdoms treasury.

Note: Always become the greatest friend of the various shop owners and pawnbrokers. (Check A002) Also consider Marriage with a rich NPC or also a partnership/marriage with a Xbox Live player! (Check A004)

Part Two: Shops
A002

The good thing about shops is that the weapons you purchase from them will eventually re-stock after a few in-game days. (Even less, depending on your economy) Bowerstone Market and Brightwall are two great locations for this technique I want to call ‘The friend’

Based on A001 you should basically befriend as much as you can the shop owners and the Pawnbrokers, therefore you can purchase a sword of i.e. 2000 Gold and sell it for 3100 Gold or even more! (Still depending on the friendship, economy and much else)

Another great thing about shops is that when you unlock the correct pack from The Road to Rule you will be able to make your business empire: more is explained at A003

Part Three: Landlord
A003

Being a landlord is one of the main features in Fable III (since the times of Fable/Fable: The Lost Chapters) Basically in Fable III this has evolved into something new, now you must repair the houses you purchase from the people before earning a decent rent and if the house has no repairs (therefore, being indecent) The people that live in will refuse to pay.

Whenever you can go to your map table and purchase houses that have the highest percentage of repair to earn more Gold quickly, when you have enough gold then start buying houses that have low repair and repair any houses you own. (Making them 100%) Do that from the very beginning of the game, especially remember to collect silver keys and to hear the g*******n dog when it barks. (You will find sums of Gold up to 50,000 Gold on 10 Silver Keys chests!)

Once you have unlocked the pack to buy shops then purchase the stalls (to start having a decent income for the repairs of the houses) and afterwards you proceed to purchase Pawnbrokers which will give you a good income. Once you have got the local Pawnbroker (if there’s any) Proceed to buy the shops from the most expensive to the less expensive.

Note: Keep in mind that you must always keep a good relationship with the tenants and shop owners. (Also to repair houses regularly in groups when they are below 45%) Another great idea is to make partnerships with other people. (Check A004)

Part Four: Xbox Live
A004

Through Xbox Live, you can make partnerships with other people, therefore sharing the incomes and expenses whenever you are playing together (of whatever you two will purchase together) However, you can always consider marriage which is sharing half income with your partner (and vice versa) this will help you when you are almost in the endgame.

Also, always think about trading rare weapons, clothing and items that can be found into your world, you might get another rare weapon or a good sum of gold, depending on what you want to. Anything you will do it will be always something positive for your Treasury.

Part Five: Sum up
A005

If you have got this far then I hope this guide was useful to you. Sum up all of what you have read above and find the silver and gold keys scattered around you world from the start of your adventure. Work on your social skills with the villagers, people of Albion and earn their trust (and their gifts)

Consider Xbox Live partnerships a good boost, depending on the other player you are playing with. Also having multiple controllers could help you to this purpose, however that would be cheating. (And this guide isn’t about cheating; it’s about making it all legit!)

Just focus on earning Gold since the very start of the game, as I said above silver keys will give you a huge boost from time-to-time which will play an important role during your game play and the whole economic scheme you will come up for your own world.

Side-notes:
- You might find me to be focusing on being a ‘good hero’ that’s because my guide aims to earn a lot of gold quickly. Being an evil hero is more challenging because it’s harder to make people give you gifts to leave them alone, however during the end-game you will earn more than enough.

- If you have got any question then feel free to post it here. I will modify the guide with time. (Plus, I will add screenshots when the PC version comes out)

- You are eligible to post this guide anywhere, as long as you provide credit to me and a link to this original post in Projectego.

Just figured I'd add this: Being evil makes things slightly harder to start off because you can't use your social skills tricks to great effect, but in the long run you get way more gold cause you can just charge double rent on everything. My evil character is loaded, and I never really had to try to get gold.
Overall great post with good tips for new players :)

to be honest the best way I found was to just wait after getting a ton of buildings. All you need to do is buy tons of shops, i didn't bother with houses because of repair requirement. then get elastic band or hair band etc and tie it around one of the analogue sticks in whatever direction and leave it for hours or however long you can be bothered :) you should easily have enough gold within two or three days of leaving it alone, providing your xbox doesn't overheat. Even if you are already king/queen as the amount of days doesn't change in between so your fine :)

I'm doing the landlord thing and getting almost 80k every 5 minutes. Sweetest way to hunt down gnomes and slaughter balverines, especially when your money bags keep getting filled to the top!

You really are a hero if you make money the real way. I praise anyone who does it that way.
