The name doesnt bother me, a little odd but we accepted Wii eventually & they took it further with Wii-U. Not backwards compatible doesnt bother me as I have a 360 to play old games on already, I have 2 actually. I dont want them wasting time getting old games to run on the new tech or re-releasing old games, I want a new generation of games. Not too bothered about the online aspect though full confirmation on this feature is thin on the ground as some say its not always online & others say it needs to check in once a day. The used game feature hasnt been fully explained either & they say more info on that is coming soon. The console not being functional without Kinect annoys me as I dont want a Kinect thats never truly turned off in my bedroom. Some of the tech/features look impressive but some ideas have me very cautious from both consoles & fact Sony hasnt even mentioned their stance on some of the same features for PS4 yet. The games will be shown at E3 & didnt expect many to be shown at the console unveiling as they never seem to show many.

All both companies have done is make me wish I had a gaming PC again so far.

The name wouldn't bother me so much if it made sense. Calling it Xbox Three would've been a lot better. "Hmm, it's our third console... Third... Third...Oh hey I know! Xbox One!!" Livid.

It's probably a good thing they didn't call it Xbox Infinity in the end. All the apparent restrictions of the console would've given it the most ironic name ever. One game purchase, one HDD per console.

It all makes sense now.

I think some 'bright spark' thought it would be a clever play on All in One as its being touted as the ultimate all in one entertainment system. Not thinking about how silly it sounds calling the 3rd in line one.

Even if this turns out to be false, Microsoft are still pushing away their customers by not confirming anything. I wish they would come out and say what's what officially. E3 is still over two weeks away - that's a long time for their stocks to diminish some more. These rumours are spreading like wildfire on the net.

I'm almost looking forward to moving back to Sony this gen. My reasons for getting an Xbox 360 over a PS3 was purely based on the price at the time; the Xbox being cheaper and the case of Fable games being Xbox exclusives. Now, with rumours of Fable IV being an MMO and with The Journey being a poor example of what Lionhead has to offer these days, I'm not so easily swayed. With the Xbox One apparently requiring the Kinect 2 as a necessity, the PS4 is bound to be cheaper. Not to mention Sony are bound to have learnt from their mistakes. They nearly ruined themselves with the PS3's launch price. They're not likely to make the same mistake again.

I've considered it many times. But at the moment with the premise of moving around and beginning study, a laptop is more convenient to me. I suppose a gaming laptop might do, but I imagine that might jack up the price, or be merely pointless in terms of actual rigs being more superior. Having a console is better suited. Plus, I'll always be a console gamer at heart. Maybe someday I'll hop over the fence and see if the grass if truly greener eh?

Because of size and weight. Easier to move around from place to place. I thought that was pretty clear.

I'm a console gamer at heart but I'm also a bit of a casual pc gamer too. Although this laptop won't play **** without crashing which sucks, I miss a good old hefty pc to play games but I much prefer a lightweight machine which can be carried anywhere.

I don't have to move the TV. Anywhere I go there will be a TV. Controllers are considerably smaller than a keyboard and mouse. And games aren't that hard to carry, I can fit most of them in the same rucksack.

When I went to LAN parties I just carried my XBOX with me and hooked up to a spare TV. I've never been one for lugging my entire PC somewhere.

The main thing for me is fitting the PC somewhere, it means ive got to find a spot to put a desk & a plug nearby to put extension cable in & if its not near router then got to fork out for a wireless adapter for it. Thats the main reason I have a laptop as I can sit anywhere with it, a gaming laptop would be superb but they are so overpriced its crazy, not easily upgradeable & PC's are & always will be more powerful (get more bang for your buck). So if im going to spend that sort of cash I would rather get a monster PC than a half decent laptop.

That was the main issue for me when I got a PC, trying to fit it somewhere. Had to rearrange the entire room to fit it in a practical space.

Maybe so but not sure my Fiancee wants a PC/desk and cables everywhere being put next to my dining table. That is the space I had allocated for it & currently has a cross-trainer there (more of an eyesore I would say). When we move things around & sell some furniture I might be able to slot it in. My house has a severe lack of plug sockets around it & a pain in the ass trailing extension cables everywhere & its very unsightly.

Yeah, that's another reason of mine. There's enough room in my livingroom for a rig but privacy(not just for pr0nz guys) is a big thing for me. I like privacy and having a rig in the livingroom isn't convenient. I'd rather have it in my room, and despite having a desk to put it on, there's no near-by socket to plug it in. There are extension plugs of course, but I'd rather not have to lay a wire along my carpet just to trip up on or be chewed up by the cats.

Having a great spot and conveniently placed sockets is a lot harder to find than you might think.
