I SAY NO MOAR!!! Except the fact that the LH forums reopened last night for anyone who doesn't know, you have to sign in with your GT which kinda sucks plus it's forums have more bugs than the Guild Woods.

But anyway I say no moar!!

I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that it'll actually see a PC release, let alone provide any support for modding (which would be nice). Methinks Microsoft will be wanting to save a Fable HD remake all for the Xbone.

Anyone remember that other massive remake Microsoft allowed? Halo: Anniversary? That was released 10 years after Halo: CE (duh). It was also released as a 360 exclusive, during a period when the PS3 was gaining on the 360.

Now, we're almost at that 10 year mark after Fable's original release. The Xbone is just around the corner. And we hear of a remake as well... Guess what? XBONE EXCLUSIVE.

Well, I might be completely wrong. At the end of the teaser, they placed the 360 logo. That could easily just be a placeholder for the Xbone, but it does give one hope, right?

According to sources its for 360 not Xbox One & I would likely expect a PC release too, im guessing its being used as a stop gap between Fable III & Fable IV.

The HD update will feature new Achievements, leaderboards and full 1080p visuals with lighting and animation powered by Unreal Engine 3. The HD version will also include all content from its expansion, Lost Chapters, and utilise an updated save system.

Quote from Ted Timmins: It's the game that the Fable fans have been demanding from us for years now. Our art director has been working really hard to bring the game up to 360 quality levels that people expect... we're actually using Unreal 3 to render all the lighting. Then we've got a new facial animation system and new cut-scene animations, so all of the cut-scenes look absolutely incredible now - they're much more up to what you expect from modern day standards. We've been looking at the textures, the models, the meshes, the particle effects... the whole thing has been redone.

I played through the original Fable several times to pick out the things that I "didn't like the most." That included the "outdated" UI, "very long" loading times and the control scheme which was subsequently "vastly improved" in Fable 2 and 3.

Lionhead are also planning to add content to Fable Anniversary, starting with SmartGlass functionality.

Ted: I'm one of these people who always has multiple gadgets on the go and is always distracted. So it was really [about] how we could take that distraction and turn it in to something that... I'm playing the game and I have this really cool companion in my lap or hand that's actually in sync. It's my map and we're actually looking at having the ability to take screenshots from it that you can share with your friends... it's really about making it something that you almost don't know is there, it's like it's almost part of the same thing. We definitely want to investigate entirely new Fable expansions and I've certainly got a whole bunch of ideas that I'd like to realise in the form of additional content.

I made a thread with the new screenshots and extracts from Major Nelson's interview with Ted Timmins, but it somehow disappeared in a puff of smoke... No matter.

I'm pretty sure Timmins said it was Xbox 360 ONLY for now, but added that there is a possibility for add-on content. Also, he stated that he LOVED all the stuff the modding community did in TLC, so that PC port may still be in the works (insert gleeful screams of joy from dear Modders).

That 'Hide The Chickens' line gave me tingles.

WHY AM I SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS EVEN THOUGH IT'S SORT OF THE SECOND REMAKE SEEING AS TLC WAS SORT OF THE FIRST AND I OWN THAT ANYWAY

This is a great chance for them to both give in to fans demand and reintroduce Fable to the world of modern gaming where it has been thoroughly outshined by other titles. With this, taking Fable in a new direction will be a smooth transition.

My only concern is that Loinhead (their new nickname that I literally just thought of :D ) has yet to thoroughly impress us with a sequel. Sure, TLC was great but that hardly counts. Fable 2 came close, but we'd be kidding ourselves if we said there weren't complaints-a-plenty when it came out. With PM gone now they have a chance to shake off all the scorn they've been racking up over the last decade. Let's hope they don't waste it. It's sink or swim time.
