I don't think I agree with them, even though I'd tap that. I'm fine with Christopher Tolkien and his siblings sitting there and renewing their dad's copyright. And I don't like the idea of people shooting each other copies of the Lord of the Rings all they want.
Same with most other works. Sure, if the authors want to release it, that's fine. But they should have that choice.
Of course, it is their father's legacy. As I said, I think they are OK in much book. Definitely not as bad as most other parties, and their views on digital copyright is sound.
