I live in Cincinnati, OH. On the eastish side of the middle of the country. Not a lot going on around here, except my sexy body.

I haven't done anything ED in a while. Haven't really felt inspired, I guess. Those articles take the require the most bizarre mindset that it hasn't happened in a while. :(

Also, if you're in Washington you can visit the bridge that Cobain wrote the song "Something in the Way" about. Fun fact.

San Fran - Portland Oregon - Seattle - Vancouver was a trip that I was hoping to do but I don't know if I'll be able to get that far on my low budget, but they're places I'd imagine are pretty. Don't know much about Ohio but that's a good enough reason to visit there.

My mum has recently done a Phd and has applied to a university job in New Orleans so there's a chance my family might relocate back over there so I'm thinking about places to go visit. I'm still not at university so I may look at US colleges too if I can somehow work out the funding.

And that's a shame I liked reading your creations on ED. Take some lsd and see if you can get back into the mindset.

The cobain thing is one of the reasons I wanna visit Seattle, along with Hendrix tall trees and rain

New Orleans is a 12 hour drive through the heart of the racist deep south to get where I am. Like, the KKK was founded in Kentucky, most active in Ohio, and spread straight down the route of that drive.

Fun fact: if she gets accepted to a university hospital, some of them will pay for 4 years tuition for one of her kids (i.e. you). Then you don't have to go into monstrous debt for college!

I'm not saying ED will never happen again, I just haven't been in the right frame of mind for it in a while. Lack of inspiration = lack of good ideas. Even if I were to stumble upon a badly written topic I don't know that I would be able to turn it into anything fresh. If anything happens, I'll let ya know.

yea new orleans isnt the sorta place id wanna live but thats whats great about america it seems, theres alot of diversity in the places. she goes for an interview there in the next couple of days and her university has different campuses around the country, so i may get to go to a cool place on low amount of dollar spent

cause theres no way id get a scholarship and having no money saved up id have to get a loan and i dont really want a massive debt looming over my head but currently find the uk a bit stifling. another possibility i was thinking about was moving to a state where id like to go to school, living there for a year and getting in state residential fees. how viable would that be do you think?

and cool, i think i remember you saying you were doing journalism, seems writing articles for ED, while not increasing your prospective candidacy for careers, would at least help with fluidity of writing

Going for in-state tuition is a great idea. The difference in cost is enormous. Thousands of dollars. For my school, a four year program costs out of state students over $15,000 more. It gets trickier depending on whether you list yourself as a dependent to your parents on your taxes. You can only do that up to a certain age... somewhere in your mid-20's I think.

As a citizen, you can go through federal financial aid at fafsa.gov to seek approval for federal grants and loans. You can't do that until you've worked in the States and sent your taxes off to the IRS, mind you. As an independent looking to go to a state school, you could probably cover most of it with grants and only need to borrow very little.

Depending on the grades you transfer in with, a scholarship or two could mean university without taking out any loans at all. Very, VERY possibly.

As for ED... haha... well, it embodies the exact polar opposite of everything we're taught to do in the journalism department. No attention to fact, no need to collect sources (make 'em up! why not!), no adherence to the Associated Press stylebook, and no one breathing down your neck about word choice or sentence structure. If anything, ED inspires a boatload of bad habits... but MAN can it be fun. haha

whats the current economic climate in america? easy to get jobs and relatively cheap to live? in state seems like the easiest way at the moment, but that would mean living there for a year which wouldnt be impossible but i dont really wanna go out there for a couple months get depressed because my life goes to **** and then moving back.

how easy is it to meet people as well? im frequently told americans on the whole are less reserved than the brits, but its getting quite hard meeting people over here outside my workplace. also i haven't done any SATs, how long does it take to do them and then apply to colleges as well?

this sounds like 20 questions dude sorry. and yea when you break it down i can see how it isn't exactly top level journalism. still it was a fun chapter in internet history.

The SAT? You register and sign up for a date then you show up and start filling in bubbles, http://sat.collegeboard.org/register

I'll be honest, the job market could be better... That said, every city needs bartenders. If you're in a large metropolitan area you should be able to pay for a studio bar tending no problem.

Meeting people isn't so difficult. All you really need is to go out to night clubs and you'll meet new people a little too easily.
