That wasn't the original letter. It used to be whining about how there should be no horses, dragons, scythes, scimitars and other stuff. Thats why people were telling him to shut up.

Re: A Message to Lionhead

Horses? In Fable? Yes.. Carriage travel but being able to ride horses? Let me explain.

Someone posted about making potions..
Something about horses?

Sounds a lot like Oblivion to me. I can pretty much guess that Fable 3 will have a similar feel to Fable 2 (Similar timezone, etc) so if their weren't horses in Fable 2.. Why Fable 3?

Jack of Blades outfit? That's just something for the fanboys to pleasure themselves over.

I rest my case. Fable 3 seems a little too anticipated for the amount of people that were annoyed with Fable 2. It might just turn out like Halo, in a way that it will never be better than the first.

Kinda afraid that fable is Microsoft's new baby to manipulate and destroy slowly. :'(
Just my thought at the moment. I hope it has the faerytale feeling it started out with in TLC. Something is missing, the fairys, and cutscenes that had a lot of feeling. I am watching closely, and hoping Peter doesn't turn this into a war.

he was quite far from whining, he was merely overly expressing his personaly opinion on this rather sensible topic. which is what a forum is for. i doubt half the people that make threads on here would make threads about anything if they knew they were gonna get flamed by twats the whole time merely for voicing their own opinion, regardless of whether or not other people agree. personally, i think he had some valid points, and although he came off a bit strong, he provided a valuable, insightful side to the debate. and i do believe that lionhead does look at these forums, as if they didn't, fable would just end up being another generic rpg that nobody likes, because it turns into the developers game where they dominate every decision made in the game, and although lionhead are more than capable developers, EVERY game, provided they dont keep in touch with the fanbase, turns wrong. remember deus ex compared to deus ex 2? look at halo combat evolved, a brilliant game, compared with halo 3, a standard shooter with aliens. and just because this one persons opinion isnt the majority doesnt mean lionhead will completely ignore it. for instance, just because i shout UNION JACK BOXERS FTW on every thread doesnt mean lionhead will listen to it. no, they listen to well explained, straight comments, like phantoms corrected first post. an example; dear lionhead, i know that the boxers of the hero in either game were hardly the subject to much debate, nor were they crucial to either plot. however, the union jack boxers in fable 1 made so many people happy. to retain this happiness from us fans would be cruel, and ultimately, i know that you, as developers, will make the right decision, and put union jack boxers into fable 3. thank you for your time.

AND i entirely agree with moonfevers post above me; the fairytail element of fable tlc was SO good, and it really was a shame they got rid of it in the sequel.

Totally Agreeing.

and although he came off a bit strong,

I got carried away. sorry.

he provided a valuable, insightful side to the debate.

Re: A Message to Lionhead

^ maybe. did you?
anyway, ive been playing fable tlc again, and i think i can safely say i prefer it to fable 2. its not just the cutscenes that are missing, its the entire atmosphere, ie the music, which was awesome in fable tlc, isnt that great in fable 2. the settings, primarily witchwood, have alot of character that one seldom finds in fable 2. dont get me wrong, the combat, graphics and the settings of fable 2 are also very good.

Re: A Message to Lionhead

Maybe people should not complain about what the games going to be like and just wait intill it comes out and see for themselves how good/bad it could be.

Not that im saying its a bad idea for people to share there ideas and all that to people im just saying that people shouldnt judge a game when they havent even played it yet.

Re: A Message to Lionhead

The only thing I would ask for is to make Fable III for PC, not like Fable II ( only for xbox )
It sucks, really. I don't have xbox and I am sure not buying it cause of a super game

Re: A Message to Lionhead

The Fable series definitely has its moments, but it still has left me wanting. The game, as hard as they try, still feels boxed in and very much trigger event oriented.

As an example, the player should have much more an influence on economy than raising percentages and have a generic affect on a region's economic robustness. A player should be able to own the top down supply chain: Shop, Shipping Company, Manufacturer of Goods. Setting sales, lower prices or inventories in a region to get greater markup value, having investors help to build your empire and perhaps kill them to keep the proceeds etc. LionHead hardly glanced the surface of what the economic system could be and this is the case, by in large, for the entire feature and I'm sure they're aware of this too.

I still very much like the fable series and still anticipate on continuing on to the next installment of the franchise. I understand that the gaming industry is trending towards the middle to cater to a more recreational demographic, but at what cost. I'm not advocating for the "Old Guard" hardcore demographic either but it is important to note that the details and the fine minutia become diluted the closer to the center a developer gets between hardcore and recreational markets.

The double-edged sword of DLC could also be mentioned here but I will refrain from detailing the pitfalls of releasing pay for content that should have been included in the storyline in the first place. This of course is said for all 360 content and not LH alone. I understand it and it's nice to see that free market theory and capitalism are still being employed somewhere-albeit the gaming industry.

Remember fishing? Or bare knuckle fighting? Yes, that would be great if they were BACK in Fable III. More armour, like, more bulkier, and such, dark, light and so fourth like the first one. Was not a bad idea! I actually LIKED it allot. Whore houses are AWESOME! Ied love to get "hard to get" females that are classy and very good looking to recruit and work for me as a pimp, dirty side jobs." Dragons, orcs, a new addition to a even BIGGER bandit crew members and hollow men? Yes, in Fable III would be great! Also, recruiting workers to build houses and stores for you? Hell yes! Get to go to a page where you have to spend money on graphing objects around into a house, and adding doors, windows, carpets, finding rare pictures, antiques, weapons that you can take off the wall of your own home and use them. Put down your fishing pole in your own home. Ever heard of a door lock? Now YOU can lock your house by yourself! Or with your family! So no random public intrudes! You and your wife or hubby has a key to the house! Divorced and she changed the locks? Climb or break into the windows or door and take all your stuff out when shes out at the bar! Or taking a day shopping spree or stroll out around in town. Pit pocketing? Sure! A whole new Gladiator Coliseum with just starting you, than build a team from the streets or hire a asassin or 5, or gladiators to fight in the coliseum. Set your asassins to "steal" or and "fight" when caught by the guards, train them to be great thieves! In Fable III, now you can ride hourses, pick from having a dog, change it into a wolf, make choices when the time comes and your soo evil, yes or no, want wings, claws, a tail, master, the shadows will exchange your soul to a living evil saint my lord! So pure, and godly, yes or no when the time comes, want wings, halo, light my lord? Sure! If you choose yes! Sacrate VERY hard to find weapons, need items to creat RARE weapons, maybe even armour, in Fable III. Everyone who agrees that this would be close to ultimate, reply, or if not, your choice.

Horses, yea, it WONT BE FABLE ANYMORE if they did it. Still, maybe "ZELDA"? Use the gates seal, or horse. Zelda, use your horse or the ocarina. Eh, GREAT games are ALWAYS simulair you know... Fable, or Lion Head NEED to stay strong in what THEY beleive in. Take their OWN word, and do what THEY think is right! :ninja:

All in all, I have faith they know what their doing. I loved both Fable, The Lost Chapters & Fable II. Whitch ever, is great. Only part I have is when public comes into your home when you don't want them to. Would be great if there was a lock? Come on now. o_O

And you know what? It's kinda nice having Fable and Fable 2, not having the same stuff avaliable. Like fishing and fist fighting, it makes them both unique. Makes you want to play the first one again, and than the 2nd one. Fable II has guns, a dog, and jobs, and the other Fable has fishing, the spell berzerk witch was fun, and bare knuckle fighting. It's all up in the air for uniqueness. ^_^
