Assassin's society?

I heard that if you give the warrants to the guard in childhood, then the Assassin's society is not available... and I was just wondering if anyone knew if this was true...Can someone still tell me where they are based anyway? Thanks...

I gave the warrants to the guard as a kid and I still have the society on my evil char. Though I haven't started the society yet.
