Re: BioShock Infinite Debut Cinematic Trailer

Not sure if the name "bioshock" Is good enough anymore. Systemshock was because it was in space and a computer went crazy more or less I'm pretty sure (not positive) And bioshock was because the city under water went crazy. Though I can't think of something to embody having a city in the sky. So Bioshock Infinite it is.

I like the concept so far. Or what I can tell of it.

At first I was like "please no not more bioshock" though I love the first game, and the second one has it's key fun points. I didn't want to see another halo syndrome of (The Original Title was amazing and everyone loved it so lets keep it going)

Honestly, if they do it right, a city in the sky situation might actually be very badass. Rep Drunkles!

Im liking that they have seemed to take the series away from the water. Although its a key part to the game and the story im interested to see what they can do with the game now. Having a game repeat the same tried and tested formula it can make a series grow stale but this looks like a refreshing twist.

This looks... interesting...

I still need to finish BioShock 1 and start BioShock 2.

I'll probably get just because it's in the air this time.

Re: BioShock Infinite Debut Cinematic Trailer

This actually looks pretty good - may buy. But I need to worry about...

Call of Duty: Black Ops
Fable 3
Gears of War 3
BioShock Infinite

And one more game I think, so I'm pretty full here..

Notice the 1893 Chicago Fair at the fish bowl. Seems like the BioShock campaign is going back in time rather than forward. I like it. Good & nice find Drakan!

Re: BioShock Infinite Debut Cinematic Trailer

I cannot tell you how happy I am Ken Levine is returning to Bioshock. The second one felt like a re-hash of the first, with less atmosphere and less intriguing plot lines.

I can only hope this fits well enough into the Bioshock universe for me to not go, 'Wait, wut?' It looks spectacular, and from what else I've read the enemies will be different to the splicers in Rapture in that they won't necessarily attack you.

Im thinking the same also and im intrigued as to what atmosphere they are going to go for and what enemies.

Flying Splicers perhaps? Flight Plasmid, I am also looking forward a possible "Steam Punk" variety of weapons.

Agreed. that's why I haven't played it as much or beat it yet. Not to get me wrong, it's fun and I like the guns they have. But I really did prefer the first game better (Same case with Fable) If it can't awe me, give me that same feeling, I just don't enjoy it as much.

I was trying to think of Plasmids. Flying maybe. Hover or something of the like. Maybe producing storm clouds. Something to do with Weather. Maybe harness a little sun in the palm of your spliced hand. :D

Re: BioShock Infinite Debut Cinematic Trailer

It's funny how people thought EVERY possible direction that Bioshock could have gone in was discussed and speculated upon before Bioshock 2, then Ken comes out with something like this. Sneaky *******

Oh absolutely, Fable and Bioshock (1) had something that you rarely experience in games, everything just works together so well. It's sadly the problem with sequels, you have to please the old crowd whilst twisting it enough to not be a copy of the original game. I'm hoping this new direction for the game will allow Irrational Games to create a similar yet new experience to Bioshock 1.

Also, I read somewhere that storm clouds will actually feature:
Kotaku said:
In one moment of the demo, Elizabeth was placing a storm cloud over the heads of a crowd of gun-toting men; DeWitt blasting forth with electricity to ignite a storm of lightning on the crowd.

SOURCE.

Aren't Bioshock 1 and 2 weapons prettymuch steampunk? I was under the impression that the weapons were slightly steampunk already.
