I was free roaming around Oakvale

And after the raid and decided to approach Dad/Brom from the Opposite direction. I walked up to him snapped a shot

Then I targeted him and kicked him AND HE GOT UP!!!

I tried to say something to him but he just stared at me. Then I got too close and the cut scene was triggered.

Here's me morning his death but he's standing beside me.

And when I warped away he's still standing there

Yeah but if he's still alive, then wouldn't the hero realise in the actual cutscene?
(the one where he isn't standing up?)

because I bypassed the normal functioning of the game. Normally you never get close enough to hardly even see him. But I came at him from the other direction so I didn't trip the cut scene until after I kicked him back to health lol

Or was he just the ghost of my father that I couldn't see hmmm

Ah, but when you bypassed the normal function, you just went round the other way so Maze couldn't see you, perhaps Maze doesn't want you to find out your father is alive.
