Lets try and make a list of all the features you hope will be in Fable 4, as well as some you think could be improved upon from the previous games.
Fable 4
  • Hopefully the return of the heroes guild, or at least something resembling it.. maybe gathering a group of people with special talents, a bit like fable 2 with Hammer,Garth and Reaver, but on a larger scale.
  • A home base.(linked to the first point) A building you can customise and upgrade as the game goes on, becoming more impressive and useful. Also a place for your gathered heroes to chill out and live. It could start as a simple campsite, but with time and money evolve from a large hall, to a mansion, to a castle, or something along those lines.
  • Although it wasnt presented too well in Fable 3, i think the King mechanics could be pretty decent if they were implemented in a better way. Perhaps instead of being the king, you could just be the Guildmaster, or leader, of whatever group you set up, and send other heroes on quests and errands, while making sure their is enough funds to keep the guild afloat.
  • With the heroes you gather, i dont see them accompanying you on quests, or maybe only on story quests where it is required. They should have their own personality, morality and abilities, which you can influence but not directly control. For every good hero there will be an Evil one, so its up to you who you recruit, and how you want the whole guild to run. A group of good heroes could be more loved by the people, but the evil ones could make more money seeing as evil people usually get paid better than the good guys. (thats a fact)
  • The heroes should develop in a way that they look unique from eachother, and each one specialised in a different area of combat. Im thinking huge guys with hammers, Girls and blokes with glowing hands throwing lightning about, just your average stereotypical group. To further develop the character however, each one should have their own small chain of quests which require you to step in at certain points, to help make decisions or back them up in a tough fight. This will reward the heroes with unique weapons/armour, abilities, or just make them more handy in a fight.
  • Romance within your hero group would be possible, but you must consider that as a hero, they could be killed off within the main quest, or on one of their own if you dont lend a hand, depending on the circumstances.
  • I'm hoping for a game along the lines of Fable 1, less guns and factories, more bows and lush forests. The magic should also be similiar to Fable 1, as the whole gauntlet idea is just terrible.
  • The game could be set before 1, possibly showing the creation of the guild or another time when it fell apart and had to be restored. If the game was set before 2 & 3, it would have to be a fair time before, to show that magic was still rampant in Albion. If it is set after all 3, then the world would need a return to magic and the old ways, maybe with an accidental use of the spire, or for an unexplained reason. This could be one of the main plots in the game, as your group of heroes has the discover why the magic has returned to Albion. This could cause a stop to the industrial side of things, with the magic enhancing the growths of trees and creatures, reverting big industrial towns to little more than villages, with trees where the factories used to be.
  • With the return of the magic, all sorts of creatures would return too. The likes of trolls, nymphs, hollowmen, balverines, krakens, hobbes, and more could be reintroduced to the world, and its up to the heroes to defeat them.
I've got more ideas, but i'll add them on later. I'm hoping you guys will read through this and add some of your own too!

First i agree with you on your suggestions second I would also like to add more:
  • unique boss fights and fights in general when facing the troll in fable 2 i was excited moving around it trying to get all the weak points and the 2 boss fights in fable 2 and 3 were just plain dissapointing Id rather have gone through the crucible 20 times
  • Make more unique characters to marry I wasn't interested in the concept at all cause there was no character i could connect to or want to they were no different from the next random person.
  • Homes should be able to do a little bit more (store equipment, Items, etc
thats all i can think of for right now

Here is my list:
  • Controls must be simpler:
I should be able after at least 20 beers with high alcohol to play Fable 4, because I have to play Fable after I spent the whole evening in the pub drinking beers. Therefore, I purpose that the "B" button does everything depending on the situation; for example when a Hobbe is close to you, B uses the sword, and when you use the button you will cast a spell which is effective to the target.
  • Avoid being "evil" more:
I always end up killing civilians by accident and the toggle is not enough; I say the game should force you to be a good guy even more, if you want to kill civilians and guards then you have to hold the B+RB and X buttons for at least five seconds, afterwards give the secret password "singing sword" through Microsoft KINECT.
  • Online economy:
Have you ever played EVE Online? Well, I say that you should. Because that is how I want Fable 4's online economy. With its own Auction House and all the like, and that making 1 Gold should take you at least three hours of pie making, and all jobs give you 1 Gold per three hours, except low jobs such as guard where you are paid 1 Gold every when the country of Albion has money to hand out to its loyal soldiers (Aka: every 24 real-life hours) Oh, and anybody that prices the stuff they sell too highly they get banned from Xbox LIVE for a couple of days.
  • Jack of Blades:
He is the only decent villain for Fable. No matter the epoch, context and whatever he should be there. Google Search proves that Jack of Blades is even more popular than the Hero of Oakvale and Bowerstone combined! Rank #2 is conspiracies about Theresa, which is my next point.
  • Theresa is a man:
She fooled us since Fable: The Lost Chapters, but I know that she was supposed to be the Hero's "brother" however, Briar Rose always commented on that when the Hero of Oakvale was not around, and that lowly lumberjack of a father could not call him a HIM, so they renamed him to Theresa. His original name was "Theodore" so you can guess how the name Theresa came up.
  • Less sex
Lets admit, Fable is perverse as far it is. Instead of getting only ONE STD when you do it with a whore *cough* a harlot, you should get about 10STD's and your character should have all the damage output diminished by 55% for at least five real-life hours, and a Catholic-religious committee has to approve of the game's portrayal of the church, sex and all the like subjects.
  • Move Official Forums to upstanding community member:
Lionhead Forums are empty and full of people complaining, therefore they must be shut down and make a popular community member make the "unofficial" Fable and Lionhead Studios community forum, because.

The home base idea would be awesome!! Reminds me of the old Suikoden series. Used to love building up the base and populating it with people you picked up during your adventures!

This brings me back. To when we did the Fable 2 wishlist thread.

And the Fable 3 wishlist thread, too.

Did we end up having our wishes granted??

Well.. Maybe Fable 2 prevailed with some, but Fable 3 was a cruel Genie!

1. If it was unique to Fable 3, f***ing get rid of it!
2. Make choices less rediculous and black and white.
3. Make choices matter.
4. Make choices interesting.
5. Make conciquences permanent and irreversable.
6. Do not make and M rated game intended for 5 year olds.
7. Ad a difficulty setting. Make the game challenging!
8. Stop putting garbage in the silver key chests and demon doors.
9. Keep the layout of the map at least somewhat consistant with that of the previous game.
10. Tell the fans to eat **** and market your game to "casual" gamers in order to make lots of sales.
11. Overhype and outright lie about the game in order to make lots and lots of sales!!!!!!!
12. No refunds!
13. Fire Molyneux
14. Hand the franchise over to a better company.
15. F*** it I'll just go play Skyrim.

Seriously though, Lionhead has a solid history of disapointment after disapointment. At this point they don't care about the fans, they don't care about the story, they don't care about making interesting games, and they don't care about anyone's ideas. All they care about its cranking out as many fresh steaming piles of Fable colored s*** as possible in order to make sales. Fable 1 showed promise (although it completely failed to live up to expectations), Fable 2 was decent (although it failed to live up to expectations), Fable 3 was quickly shat out 2 years later and was complete garbage, and now the spin-offs have begun!

Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times? Aint happening. Yeah, I hated Fable 3 that much. I could rip it apart in great detail at every level that it failed to deliver on, but I don't feel like writing a book.

Something I just realised. We asked for more greenery, less factories, more magic, and more magical creatures, and we get The Journey. Which has NO factories, MOSTLY green forests, ONLY magic, and the return of many creatures like the Trolls.

Anyway, I want The Hero of Oakvale to appear from wherever he was hiding and kill everything for you. Done. End of game.

His original name was "Theodore" so you can guess how the name Theresa came up.

Nooo... his name is Terence.

13. Fire Molyneux.

He didn't get fired. He quit! :p

1) Keep the Awesome couch co-op from Fable III (the wonder and pure joy of sharing an adventure in a realm of magic and legend, with a fully costomizable friend, and experiencing all the terrors and wonders, trials and triumphs in real time with a real friend and companion, had become too rare a thing in the current gen consoles, and Fable III did a wonderful job with it, which all future Fable's should repeat).

2)More Lore, More Story, More Magical Creatures (Both Dark and Light). Shiny new features are lovely, but without the centering effect of excellent story telling, they can only do so much. Fable II and III were not as extensive as they could have been. The rush to the future caused them to ditch many of the magical creatures, rather than expanding their number, and in so doing, they lost some of the magic. They also made the mistake of hinting at lore that lead to dead ends. Demon Princes and Fairie Moon Kings whom you never learned any more about than a name or title. Greater lore, and the possiblility of interactions and more sidequests, would greatly enhance these games. Also, just as there are creatures of evil and Shadow, there should also be magical creatures of Good and Light, perhaps dwelling in enchanted glades (this is Fable, after all) and in The Temple of Light. They might aid neutral to good playercharacters, while providing a different type of foe to wickied players.

3) Expand the magic and spell list, but loose the damned gauntlets: Having to rely on a talisman pair of gloves to wield sorcery makes every wizard feel a hell of a lot less wizardic. Also, while the combined spell effects in Fable III were beautiful, they confined the player to being little more than a battle mage. Spells like chaos, charm, healing and shield, along with some additional spells for practical things like opening locks (or Fablesque comedic things like transforming people into rabbits, or making peoples clothes vanish lol) could add a lot (the former type more than the latter, admittedly.

4) Larger regions and More of them: while I am sure the tech is there, I will understand if the developers cannot manage to keep all the other good features, and make an open world, or regions twice the size of Mistpeak valley. But that is no reason not to make a lot MORE regions the size of Mistpeak. Also, give back the foreign reaches. The Northern wastes should return, both for their scenic and mythic/historic value (what evil beings might congregate at the devil door where Jack of Blades fell. . . if The Temple of Shadows is a site of Evil, how much more so this ancient place of dread). Also Samarkand should make a debut at last! And Aurora should not be forgotten.

5) Finally. . . more expressions, more costumes, more brothels, sex, weapons etc. etc. etc., Amen.

Other than that, don't change a thing.

Have to say a big NO to the less sex thing, and here is why. . . sex is part of Fable, as with life, and it is mostly tasteful and humourous. It is bad enough that Elder Scrolls has increasingly become (like my own America) a warped place where graphic violence and even murder is somehow acceptable, but even simple, natural as your birthday nudity, with no sex involved, as treated as "oh my God, awful."

Let me be plain. Everyone on the planet, barring a dread catastrophe, has a butt, and knows what one looks like. The sight of one is not a cause for trauma. The same cannot (and for God's sake SHOULD not) be said of a decapitation. The fact that games, movies and television here is more comfortable showing guts coming out of the body, than a nude body that is fully intact, is a terrible statement on the culture. Fable is fine with the sex intact. There is no need to turn it into chaste, sex hating, gore porn. Leave that to early 80s horror movies.

Also, DarkIntellect. . . if you are a hero, shouldn't your awesome magical, superpowered blood just burn away those pesky little viruses? lol

Even though I do deeply appreciate all the effort you put into writing a throughout reply to my post; I must openly say that it was written sarcastically without any serious intent besides giving you a chuckle or two. Therefore, anything said there shouldn't be taken seriously.
It may seem so, but you are mistaken in my intent and the seriousness of it. It should be taken quite seriously, and was at no point intended to be sarcasm, or a mockery of you. The pseudo-puritanism of our culture has long been a pet peeve of mine, and it troubles me deeply and sincerely that the collective we are so tolerant of (and promiting of) the most horrible acts of gruesome violence in media, including gaming, but get the most ludicrous bee up our bums about anything sexual in nature. It is madness, and speaks ill of us as a people. I am very glad that Fable has always taken a more appropriate approach, rather than the path Elder Scrolls chose, where violent finishing moves are set up as something to cheer about, but the notion of a bare butt is somehow too naughty to broach. I wasn't joking at all. I am sorry if you thought that I was, and moreso if you thought that I posted that commentary for the purpose of deriding you. Neither are the case. I do wish to deride the notion that was put forth, but only in the most sincere and serious aspect.

Wait. . . the above post by me only applies if you were suggesting that my post was facetious. If, however, you are implying that your original post, to which I was responding, was facetious. . . well, then I truly apologize for misreading it and for replying with any air that might be perceived as scolding. :geek::thumbsup:
