What if instead of going to the future, we go to the past. What if this game is more of a prequel and we play as William Black, From blacksmith to hero. However we could "alter history" in many ways. An evil play through could have us join the court for instance, or maybe his wife became the first hero. That would still allow us to customize the hero and we would have our own version/ timeline, but still keep with the established lore.
