Final Fantasy VII - PS3 Remake?

When the PlayStation 3 was first announced in 2005, they dazzled the world with a jaw dropping demo of a Final Fantasy VII remake. Shortly after, Square-Enix pulled the carpet out from our feet by officially stating that they had no intention of remaking it for the PS3.

I saw a post on this Forum about it and I've seen a few websites with the PS3 Remake demo. It isn't real so I'm going to shrivel up and cut myself.

It is true they are remaking Final Fantasy VII for the PS3.That would be the only reason for me to get the PS3,but I already have it for the PS2 and the PS1.

It is true they are remaking Final Fantasy VII for the PS3.That would be the only reason for me to get the PS3,but I already have it for the PS2 and the PS1.

Do not assume things.

Square has a knack for announcing its projects very early. They have not announced a FFVII remake. When they decide to make it we'll know soon after.

Two things.
I hope Microsoft pay them big to release for 360 as well.. Unlikely though. Sony suck.

I have it for the PS1, I wanted it for PC for modding, etc.. It's like £70 ($140, I think?) on like every website....

The only mod I would care about is the mod that makes it so the main casts hands don't look like Lego's. Otherwise I'd be fine.

I dont think Square have the guts to release a remake of FFVII to be honest. They know that if they screwed anything up in it the fanboy backlash would be astronomical to say the least.

No Disc Three... In its place was Final Fantasy IX Disc One.....

They actually hinted at it, but nothing concrete.

In the Crisis Core CE (never made it state side) they released a book that had all the HD images of FFVII scenes, and at the end it said, "Now we hope to revisit Final Fantasy 7 one more time."

In the Crisis Core CE (never made it state side) they released a book that had all the HD images of FFVII scenes, and at the end it said, "Now we hope to revisit Final Fantasy 7 one more time."

They have hinted at it for many many years and said that they would love to make one but want to make sure if they did they would do it right. I dont think they could actually get it 100% right and please everyone and therefore wouldnt take the chance and make it. Unless it was the very last game in the series and was made as a homage to the franchise.

It wouldn't affect me either way, mainly because I don't have a PS3 ^_^.

They said if they were to remake it it would take a staff of 300 people and a minimum of 5 years.

And screw the fans. Never try to please fans. That's asking to fail. Just create.

May I remind you that FFXIII is coming out of the 360 as well?

Sony doesn't own Final Fantasy, Square does.

Some time in 2010, they havent set an actual exact date yet.
