I have to say Jak 2. I got to the final part and wasn't prepared and it saved before the fight.

the ratchet and clank (first and second games) were great fun. enjoyed every minute of them.
strangely though, i never was able to beat the final boss of either one. i'm sure if i were to try it again i would be able to, but i no longer have a PS2.

go on and laugh, but it was absolutely impossible at the time.

...Dark Souls. I like the game, it was just that I was told not to use any guides because it'll ruin the point of the game. I found out years later that it's okay to ask for help on Dark Souls (I know I sound ridiculous for saying I could not complete a game because of an elitist fanbase). I got to the Taurus demon and I could not figure out to beat him. Like, at all. There isn't any real preparation for a boss fight, but I do like being able to explore new death traps. It would be helpful to have a feedback system like Cuphead does. I might try other games in the series.

Dragon's Dogma, which I got stuck on after defeating the dragon.

Oblivion, which I just kept too distracted with side quests on.
