My Pokémon Emerald Party

I have:

Tyranitar Lv75, Modest Nature
Holding: King's Rock

  • Crunch
  • Rock Slide
  • Flamethrower
  • Earthquake
Blissey Lv75, Bold Nature
Holding: Leftovers

  • Toxic
  • Counter
  • Softboiled
  • Seismic Toss
Dragonite Lv75, Modest Nature
Holding: Leftovers

  • Outrage
  • Ice Beam
  • Thunderbolt
  • Flamethrower
I need 3 more Pokémon to make a good party. I'm most proud of my Blissey cause of its nature and moves. Toxic/Leftovers for constant, long-battle damage/health regen, Counter is perfect because it has a low defence, massive Hp and will reverse all damage 2-fold, which covers its weakness. Softboiled, naturally. Seismic Toss to counter Blissey's tiny attack power.

I would like some ideas for 3 more Pokémon, non-legendary, which cover: Psychic, fighting, grass/bug maybe.., water, electric and/or steel. Pokémon need to be rare but obtainable on Fire Red/Ruby/Emerald. I would've had a Slowking but its only on Leaf Green :(

Re: My Pokémon Emerald Party

I have them all at Lv100 on Ruby and I've caught them on Emerald, I even have Latios, Latias and the Regis, but I want a non-legendary party.

I use Porygon-Z in Heart Gold. He has the highest special attack of all the non-legendaries, and he can learn most special attacks. Though, I don't know if you can get him in the GBA games.

Nah you can't. I was thinking about a Machamp but I'm bored of them. Maybe Poliwrath, Alakazam and Electabuzz, or a strong bug type excluding Heracross?

Re: My Pokémon Emerald Party

^ Highest Special Attack, tied with Alakazam. Seriously, Alakazams are beast. Psychic, recover, Miracle Eye, Shadow Ball. High speed, devestating special attack. Brilliant psychic type.

Salamence's are beast, as are Tyranitars. You could always get the Metagross that Steven gives you and train it up, thats Psy and Steel, I usually go for Gyrados for a water until I get a legendary, cause most of the water types arent great.

EDIT: Double ninja'd - I would go for a poliwrath actually, theyre sweet XD

I had a Lv100 Salamence in another save, and I was training a Metagross but I would need to teach it Earthquake and I already used it on a useless Wailord. Used a Gyrados before too. For water I was thinking Mylotic but Poliwrath is like, psychic, water and fighting rolled into one. Although it'd need to be a choice between Attack and Sp. Attack. Tyranitars are deadly but when I do team battles its sand stream can be a problem :p

Re: My Pokémon Emerald Party

Dude, I had a freakin' Metagross. IT WAS MY BABY. But I traded it to a kid in my school for a day or two just to beat the Elite Four and then he got expelled! LIKE WTF. I named him Bert. He was my favourite. :(

Re: My Pokémon Emerald Party

Ooh, actually Aggron's are pretty good. They have a mega defense, and a decent attack as well. Only problem is earthquake.... or fighting moves. Tied with an Alakazam, they'd do pretty well.

Aggron is quite amazing. I remember catching an Aron in Emerald.

And you can't beat Alakazam. It's a shame Abra is a b*tch to catch and Kadabra evolves through trading but you said you have Ruby so it wont be a problem.

Re: My Pokémon Emerald Party

Alakazam it is. Two more spaces to fill, I'm quite keen on a strong bug type but I'm aware that there probably aren't any other than Heracross. I like the Aggron idea, I'll look into it. So 1/2 spaces to fill.

Re: My Pokémon Emerald Party

Bug types are prettttty useless. You could always go Pinsir, theyre like Heracross pretty much and know a one kit K/O.

The starters are realllllly good actually, they have some of the best base stats out of all pokemon.

My idea for a bug is a use against Psychic, but I could always use dark type moves. Any good dark Pokémon? :p

Re: My Pokémon Emerald Party

Isnt tyranitar half dark? Lol almost said half black there....

Psychic generally arent that strong - for instance they have really bad defense and a quicker pokemon should have no problem dealing with it.

If you play MMO's, think of pokemon like Alakazam as spikers - they have really high special attack and are very quick, so they can deal out alot of damage straight away, but if you can survive tht initial 'spike' theyre quite vulnerable.

Dont get mewrong, Alakazam is my fave pokemon because of that, you just need to find their flaws, and unfortuneately, Bug pokemon arent good enough against other types to really make them a goodparty addition.

You could go Sharpedo for dark/water theyre quite good.

Re: My Pokémon Emerald Party

Bug type for psychic: Butterfree. If that doesn't suit your fancy, Scizor or just Syther are pretty good. If you want speed, don't evolve it, if you want defense, evolve it. There are no strong bug type pokemon...none, don't even try to look, you just have to pick your favorite. If you want a dark go for Houndoom, good Sp Atk and Spd. Nasty Plot, Flamethrower, and Dark Pulse...excellent. You can always get a Gengar, those are good...

Re: My Pokémon Emerald Party

The bad thing about Gengar is that they are part poison, and could easily get K/Od by an Alakazam.

I would go Sharpedo personally, but Houndoom is a good alternative. Need to trade it from Colosseum, though.
