PC Install error (XP)

When it gets to installing the level FinalAlbion_RT.stb on the second disk, it takes over an hour installing the file then comes up with the error message;

"Error 1305.Error reading from file C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Fable - The Lost Chapters\data\Levels\FinalAlbion_RT.stb. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it."

During the installation the files are there, i checked that file and it was fine, i could access it and it didnt appear to have any problems. I tried using the "Retry" command, restarting, turning my laptop off and trying again after an hour but nothing worked.

What do i do? :'(

Do you have the latest drivers?

See if this helps, its a problem with your Windows Installer i believe.

Ive got the latest drivers, i updated the installer but it still does it. When i click "Cancel" when given the option to retry or cancel the installation after the problem occurs, this message is given.

"Error -1603 fatal error during installation"

Are they the CORRECT drivers?

I`ve had this error with other games, but... can`t really say whats wrong.
This might be CD Drive or CD error or something.

No luck. I tried to find the ATI driver updates but whenever i found a page it didnt have my gfx card on it. The card is ATI Radeon Xpress 200M.

Theres no problem with my CD drive cause Warcraft 3 runs fine... the CD is pretty clean theres no deep scratches.

Guess ill try windows update again.

See if these are a newer version than your current:

do you have administrative rights on your computer?
sometimes stuff like that happens...
but usually it would stop you right at the beginning...

Thanks for all the help guys, i tried installing it on every computer in my house and it didnt work so i guess its the CD.

Yeah it must be if it didnt work on any of them.
