The new Xbox One dashboard is the next step, not the final step

NXOE started rolling out at 3:01am ET/ 12:01am PT November 12th. Back Compatibility titles were made playable or started to appear in your collection (for digital purchases) after 3:01pm /12:01 pm (Noon) PT on Thursday also as the global rollout of the NXE started.

HOW TO GET THE NEW XBOX ONE EXPERIENCE?

If you use the Instant-on power mode (available via Settings – Power & startup), your Xbox One will take the update in the background when you put your console into Connected Standby mode. As this is a global rolling launch, consoles in Connected Standby will be updated at various times throughout the day based on your time zone.

If your console is in Energy-saving mode, your Xbox One will not automatically download and install the update. To initiate the download and update process, you can go to Settings – System to manually check if an update is available and choose “Update Now”.

Note that all Xbox One consoles will receive a prompt for a mandatory update on November 23rd if they have not yet updated to the New Xbox One Experience.

  • Learn more about the New Xbox One Experience system update and build here.
  • Starting 3:01am ET/ 12:01am PT November 12th, access the Xbox.com support team’s knowledge base regarding known concerns here.
There are currently 104 titles that are Backwards Compatible from Day 1 (list not great at moment) but there will be frequent additions to this list according to Microsoft. However future additions will also depend on publishers/developers and other factors.

I like it a lot better than the old one so far, that old interface was garbage to be honest. It was a pain in the ass to navigate around and find exactly what I was looking for. 4-5 menu dives just to get something as simple as a background change or view screenshots? Definitely meant for Kinect.

Still getting used to the controls a bit, but that side-guide is a welcome return. The list of backwards compatible games is pretty scattered though.. FO3 but no NV? Only Ass Creed II? Most seem to be from XBLA as well.

Fallout 3 was simply because Bethesda wanted it packaged with Fallout 4 and guess New Vegas is whole other kettle of fish as it wasnt a Bethesda title, however I have heard that it could be coming too. Assassins Creed II was voted for I believe out of them all and the rest all depend on publishers/developers. Heard Bethesda have Skyrim running on it already but not sure if/when that will be released onto it and Red Dead is apparently on the way too.

Makes sense, though I personally would've gone for AC Brotherhood (much much better). Wonder if Bethesda will just skip Skyrim for BC and instead release the XB1/PS4 version they revealed as using for testing purposes (Todd Howard never ruled it out anyway).

I've seen some of the lists they had already for the rest of the backwards compatible games and I'm not too sure. Majority votes are calling for lots of COD.... as if there wasn't already enough apparently.

Yeah I don't know how CoD topped the list, at least Red Dead was a strong second.

>_> Still wishing we could get some RDR on PC though.

Fingers crossed for some Lost Odyssey & Blue Dragon love next time for the list. The Xbox One's vsync capability for 360 games will do wonders for the hellacious screen tearing in those games.

I'm still amazed Red Dead was never ported to PC after the success of GTA V.

Yeah really, they even ported LA Noire which was less financially successful. I guess it's because GTA IV was an atrocious port with bugs galore and couldn't be assed going through that again with RDR. I'm willing to go with never saying never, considering the recent PC porting of Dragon's Dogma. Anything can happen I guess.
