So some info came to me about Fable 4 and I'd like to share. We will be going to a new land mass we have not seen before, Albion and Aurora have been reduced to fables like that of Avo and Skorm in Fable 2, once real but no longer. In our past a great king used a spire to wish for a meteorite to hit and has sent society back a few steps in terms of progress. The Guild will return and Theresa as well. We will get to speak to them through Demon Doors that have time travel. Ours will be a separate dimension from that of the Hero of Oakvale. Jack of Blades will return as well physically present in our world. There will be no guns at that point in time. There will be good and evil and you can buy every property that you see, evil choices will be punished at the end of the game and this will effect your properties. There was a video leaked that had early game play of Fable 4 but has been taken down.

That's it for now I'm already excited ^_^

  • First/Third Person
  • In-Depth character creator
  • Completely Open
  • No guns
  • Can ignore the main quest and never become a hero
  • Players can build towns, ties into the main quest heavily if you get the bad ending and fail
  • Multiplayer
  • Unreal Engine
Albion and Aurora are gone. "Lands reduced to fables." The Spire was rebuilt and used by a mad king to wish that an asteroid would strike the planet. He also wished it would happen again in the far future. Eons later and everything is new (medieval themed, new continents) and you have to stop the destruction of the planet again. Theresa and a Heroes Guild are preserved on another planet via a demon door. Time Travel heavily involved in the play. Jack of Blades returns.

This sounds a lot like the settlement building in fallout 4. A feature I was never too crazy about.

I hope this is all just a rumor and they play it safe with a prequel or something. This concept doesnt seem very fable to me.

Full character creation will be interesting. Time travel seems a bit much tho. Intriguing that it's a open world concept kind of like Skyrim or GTA in the sense there will be hours upon hours of playtime not associated with main quests or storylines. Building a village sounds cool bud also sounds like a lot of work. The whole being judged at the end based on your "life's work" has a very biblical ring to it I'm not completely ok with having in video games but I'm sure they will make it as un biblical as they can. No guns tho means back to bows. Will make ranged a secondary option in combat target than the first... But I'm not convinced it'll have that fable feel to it. We will see

Xbox May event and a possible Fable reveal

With E3 2020 canceled, Microsoft perhaps has a bit more leeway in terms of what it can do with regards to marketing and its upcoming events, spreading them across a wider range of dates. A couple of Xbox YouTubers with good track records for accurate information have suggested a May event, as well, to coincide with the previously-announced digital showcases Microsoft mentioned would replace its E3 showing in June.

We've heard Microsoft may also be gearing up to show off a few upcoming games as part of its May press releases. Long-standing rumors of a Fable reboot under Playground Games make for an obvious candidate, but we've also barely seen anything about Halo Infinite, which is supposedly launching later this year presuming "work from home" delays are avoided.

Whether this will be a full-blown showcase event like Inside Xbox, a trailer reveal as we saw for Hellblade II, or a third-party deep dive with the expertise of outlets like Digital Foundry is completely unknown. But as they say, there's typically no smoke without fire.

Ok, so there was no Fable on Inside Xbox event and that sucks.
But there is still hope... unfortunately we will have to wait until July.

Because...
In July, we will dedicate time to focus on the incredible games coming from Xbox Game Studios. A number of our studio teams are looking forward to sharing first looks at new gameplay, insights from development teams being optimized for Xbox Series X, and brand-new game announcements. We cannot wait to share this initial look at what some of those teams are working on.

Oh and what did you all think about the games shown?

Excited for Bloodlines 2 and happy to see it getting a console release for those that might not have played Bloodlines.

Would you care to share your thoughts on Assassin's Creed Valhalla? Looks quite grand to me.

I really like the concept and the time period appeals to me a lot and the sound of the gameplay they are going for is ticking all the right boxes. I do own all the Assassins Creed games (although still havent played any of them since Black Flag) they are in my collection though. It certainly sounds like its going in the right direction and look forward to seeing some gameplay and how building a settlement and such comes into play and just how they are going to get the Assassin part incorporated into a time period thats known for quite large brutal battles.

Does anyone know what sort of platforms fable 4 will/may be released on?

I would say PC and Xbox One/Series X.

Definitely next gen Xbox + PC. Perhaps Switch?
There has to be a connection between Unreal engine 5 and next Fable game launch though.

Unreal Engine 5 will be available in preview in early 2021, and in full release late in 2021, supporting next-generation consoles, current-generation consoles, PC, Mac, iOS, and Android.

We’re designing for forward compatibility, so you can get started with next-gen development now in UE4 and move your projects to UE5 when ready.

It is rumoured that Playground Games is using UE to build Fable.

After seeing the demo of UE5 and hearing that playground games is fiddling with photogrammetry it's easy to see that next Fable is coming out on next gen consoles. My guess is after ue5 comes out.

That is some nice artwork and looking at the comments there is a very good chance this could be Fable related.
