Fable Explorer problem

When I double click the exe file it shows up with a error saying
"Object reference not set to an instance of an object. From: at FableExplorer.frmMain.Main()" anyone know how to fix this?

Re: Fable Explorer problem

Fable Explorer cannot work properly if Fable is opened. Also, make sure you have DirectX 9.0c, .NET Framework 2.0 installed, as well as a graphics card that supports buffering (16bit).

If neither is the cause of your issue, you might want to check if the install path is there already. Otherwise, add an installation entry to the registry.

Or, as another alternative method, check this: click here.

Absolutely not. That is an antiquated and obsolete version of FableExplorer and should be considered as a last resort as it is not as functional as the current versions of FableExplorer and it will break the environments if it is used to compile the game.bin (which can be fixed by recompiling the game.bin with the current version of FableExplorer).
Thanks for the information. I linked to the thread as that was the one I had and/or was in my bookmarks. I'll keep it in mind.

Re: Fable Explorer problem

I found out the solution but I don't know the exact problem. :hmm:

The solution was to just use windows 7 32x and not the 64x, the problem is that my main one is the 64x and its faster than the 32x one.

Have you installed Fable?
Have you moved Fable to a different directory since you installed it?
Have you changed Fable's registry data?

No

Are you using Vista or Windows 7?
Have you installed .NET Framework 2.0 SP1 (or .NET Framework 3.5 for newer versions of FableExplorer) or later versions of the .NET Framework?
Have you installed MSVC++ 2005 SP1 (or MSVC++ 2008 for newer versions of FableExplorer) or later packages of the MSVC++ Runtimes?
Did you download the def.xml that is required by all versions of FableExplorer?
Are you attempting to run FableExplorer while Fable or ChocolateBox is already running?
Did you flag any of the Fable data files as Read-only?

I'm using widows 7 64x.
I have installed .NET framework 3.5 or a later version.
I have installed MSVC++ 2008.
Yes I downloaded the def.xml thing.
no I am not attempting to run FableExplorer while ChocolateBox is running.
No I did not flag any Fable data.

No? You didn't install Fable? I'm sure that's just an oversight, but the accuracy of the information you give me is important.

Sorry about that, yes I did install fable.

Do you have ownership of the Program Files directories?
Do you have ownership of the directory that FableExplorer is in?
Are you running FableExplorer as an admin?

Yes

If you initially experienced Vista-related issues with FableExplorer (Access Denied) and do not have such issues now, have you cleared out your VirtualStore file cache (fruit of the poisonous tree)?

No I have not experienced any issues with fable not having access, and I don't have vista. I don't even know what VirtualStore is.

Re: Fable Explorer problem

I don't have fable in VertualStore, it just says Nvidia in one file and that's about it.
