It feels so slimy and slippery...

First of all, I'm just curious as to what went through your mind when you saw the title, and what you thought the thread was about. :lol:

Now, more importantly, I just got my braces off! It feels so slimy and slippery...but it's so nice! I no longer have to fish pieces of food out from in between my brackets when I eat, but I still do it out of habit.

It's pretty ridiculous how long I've had them on, too. When I first got them put on, they said it'd be about a year and a half. That was two years and eight months ago.

The glue was probably the worst part of getting braces, when I got them off the women did a ****ty job getting the glue off and I've still got some of that stuff on my back tooth! D:

Pretty much what Arseface said, to be honest.

They didn't take the glue off when I had my braces removed...apparently they "forgot" and by the time I got another appointment to have them remedy it, it was too late and would "irreversibly damage" the enamel on my teeth. Yeah, coz little squares of pale yellow glue look AWESOME

I will be pretty soon. I've heard that they're pretty annoying, but they're not as bad as rubber bands, are they?

I am fine with my retainer, I don't really feel it... Three things about it:
1 ) Only take it off when you are eating or drinking a hot liquid or brushing, otherwise I leave mine in.
2 ) Clean it every day after you brush, and remember to floss, I still have trouble remembering I can floss now.
3 ) Practice Articulating ALOT, I had trouble with vowels for the first two weeks of my retainer, it takes away half of your tongues mobility, so make sure to practice articulating when you get the retainer, I still have a slight lisp now, but it is fading.

My retainer made it hard for me to say letters like G and J for ages...plus the plastic plate at the top made me dribble all the time.
