Original Guitar Piece...

So, I've been working on this for quite a while, and it's only half way done. But tell me what you guys think! I stopped in the middle of the solo, I'm planning on doing something else. Eh, comment and subscribe and stuff if you want. I also have a crappy Spoonman cover... Anyways, give me some suggestions!

P.S. It's really sloppy.

You may have to turn your volume up a little. It's a bit quiet on my headphones, but that might just be because my cat is dumb and teething.

EDIT: The video has nothing to do with anything. I just put it there because I only recorded the audio via Cool Edit Pro.

Very nice, sounds good. Is it for a class, or just for the hell of it?
I wish I could play an instrument, tried several as a kid but never got the hang of any. I like that there are no sliding string sounds, don't know what the official name for that is.

Re: Original Guitar Piece...

Oh, haha. Thanks, I'm doing it because I want to be a musician when I grow up.

, the only reason I started guitar was because I had small nimble-ish fingers from my dad forcing me to take piano lessons. I hated piano, however, so I picked up my dad's classical, and throughout like, 3 years, this is the result.

Yeah, I use a Vox Tonelab ST hooked up to an Esteban Solid-state 15watt Acoustic amp that came with my dad's Classical guitar.

I'm really thinking about getting an all-tube amp soon though. Like a cheap one, like Blackheart or Epiphone Valve Jr.

I'm looking for someone to do a side project with, when i'm not working with my band. I do screamo vocals.

Re: Original Guitar Piece...

Oh really? I'm up for some stuff. Screamo as in like, screams and clean vocals mixed, or stuff like Job For a Cowboy? I can't stand screams and growls and stuff mixed with cleans. I've been doing some vocals for a while, but I can't get my lows very low. Or exhaled pig squeals. I do everything else exhale though.

What stuff do you like, listen to?

Ohh, ew i can't stand job for a cowboy, i don't like that low stuff.

I do vocals more like bring me the horizon, i'ts like higher and more understandable. and clean vocals mixed in. i don't do pig squels though.

I like Bring me the horizon, escape the fate, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Devil Wears Prada. They mostly inspire me.

It might be just me, but I feel like you're going out of tempo at some parts (slowing down). But I guess it' not a problem with some beat to back you up.

Otherwise, good job.

Re: Original Guitar Piece...

I haven't really had internet for a while so I'm late... so what.

Your pretty good. finally someone to rival my awesomeness! may I offer some recording suggestions though?

You are 13 or 14 right? So I'm going to assume you don't have a huge budget.

I had some problems with recording. namely I could heard my pick slapping my strings, the same problem your recording has. I am very quick to critisize my work. and I knew I had to fix it.

so I went and bought a 20 dollar cheap little mixing board, An extra guitar cable, and it all cost 40ish dollars. I hooked the guitar cord from the headphone jack of the amp to the mixing board and then plugged the mixing board into the mic slot on the computer and it made a world of difference! if you can instead of hooking the mixing board up to the mic slot hook it up to usb.

Hope that helps.

But that was pretty good overall, if it had a singer, some bass, some drums, and possibly a rhythm guitar part I'd put it on my ipod.

Re: Original Guitar Piece...

Really? Wow, thanks. I'll look into doing that, although I have a Vox Tonelab, that could plug into my computer, I just don't have a usb-b cable.

My dad has a really good mixing board he uses for his Karoke (lol, Asian parents), so I may ask him to use that. It's a Behringer FBQ Pro-xxxx? Don't remember the numbers.

I tried making a rhythm guitar part, but couldn't figure out anything. How do I harmonize!?

Re: Original Guitar Piece...

Well, the mixing board that your dad has would be more than enough. and I can't help you with harmonizing, it just comes to me and pops in my brain when I finally have a lead part and a riff.

In fact I am thinking of a good rhythm part that would fit with your song right now. I''m cool like that. I could record you a rhythm part once I get my pc running. if you wanted.

Re: Original Guitar Piece...

I would actually recommend a Line 6 POD for the recording - I know a few professional producers that use PODs, and they come with a variety of decent pre set sounds and effects.

Totally dude! If you need the tabs I currently have for the song (yeah, I took time to do that...), I can send 'em to ya! Any kind of help I could get, I'd appreciate

I was looking into getting one of those, although I've never been a fan of Line 6, the POD looks pretty cool. I'm a huge tone freak. :D

Re: Original Guitar Piece...

I was giving a budget solution that got me the sound that my amp put out. so, if you like like the sound that come out of your amp, and don't have money fallin out your arse, then my solution would fit you better, but if you have money, get something more professional. my way was just was I call nigga riggin. (no im not racist.) It's taking what you got and doin what you can with it. I had 50 dollars I had been saving for a new pedal, but instead I decided to fix what I already had.

Re: Original Guitar Piece...

Oh Trawgdor, I detest Line 6. The POD really is something though, as I say it produces good sounds at a relatively low price (for what it is).
