So I thought it would be a good idea to make a thread where if anyone has any questions they can come here and we can all help each other out. You can post anything related to Skyrim in game. Have questions? Can't figure something out? Found out something really cool to share? Know how to help? Just post it here and we can all add our two pence. More than anything I want this to be a helpful resource.

On a side note if you ever have to post a spoiler I suggest you write it in white between brackets or PM someone, just don't ruin anything for anyone and everything will be cool. It just came out so please don't give away storyline, quest info or anything damaging unless you are specifically asked by someone.

I guess I'll start it off with a tip, if you are carrying to much but don't want to drop your loot, stuff it in a barrel go to town and sell and then come back, it never disappears but it could or an NPC could snatch it so be warned but it's good when your in a tight jam rather then dropping some expensive loot.

A simple little tip for those that like to use bows and arrows, when you're holding down the right trigger to aim your shot (but end up changing your mind), you can press the "X" button (360 controller) or "Square" button (PS3) to cancel the shot, saved me from wasting a few arrows and giving away my position from an unwanted shot.

Another good tip for bowmen or sneaks is you'll eventually get spider venom from dungeons, these are good to equip when you are unnoticed and want to make that first shot, also if you have any amulets or enchants that raise your archery then equip that aswell, it makes for a huge blow to health and right after just equip back to your normal gear and a power attack as they walk up to you does for some quick clean kills.

Speaking of dropping loot, here's a word of caution from my own unexpected experience: Don't drop your loot (such as weapons) in the middle of a city otherwise the town guards will scold you (and eventually attack you if you continue) because people can get hurt from accidentally stepping on them.

It seems there's a series of treasure maps in the game as well. I've found the third one, and although I'll have to go check later where I got it, all it has is a picture on it of a tower. Pretty cool though. Anyone else found any treasure maps? Any idea how many there are etc?

Yeah, I found a treasure map on some bandits that leads to treasure near Riverwood. Only one I found so far, but I can't really make heads or tails of the thing.

Take the time to do the dragon shout training - it really is worth it.

I'm so caught up in sidequests that I haven't even gotten anywhere near the dragon shout training.

Took me an age to find the best route to the greybeards. Town to bottom left of mountain which is diagonal to location. I went all the way around to the other side of the mountain only to find you couldnt get up that way.

Ohh is that a quest do you find them randomly?

A good tip you can look at what NPC's carry without getting in trouble, if you try to pickpocket then you commit a crime, so you can search around for anyone who is packing some good loot.

Anyone know how to make some good coin fast?

I think you find them randomly.

Selling jewelry can get you lots of gold since the average is 100-500 a piece and the good stuff at an upwards of 1,500-2,000+. Other than that, there's plenty of gold coins to be had in ruins, off bandits, and selling things you have no use for anymore.

But be careful where you sell your goods, a jeweler will take full price for your jewelry while others will only pay a fraction of that.

Okay cause I feel like every merchant is raping me on prices, I found this tunic that does 20% on prices but I sill feel like I'm being gypped. My speech is also low is that what's going on?

So only sell items to the corresponding vendors for the best prices? And also when I find good loot most people only have 500 to barter with, where are all the rich vendors at?

Yeah, your speech being low is giving you bad deals. Increase your speech and work on the speech perks to improve your buying & selling prices.

Yep. The ones in the bigger cities I found to have some good quantity of coin on them - specifically the ones who own their own shops, not the vendors that sit out on the streets.

Be for the best to label spoiler material with a spoiler label from now on.

I'd imagine there would be a cure for lycanthropy, but I haven't made it that far yet into their quests.. though I love being a werewolf personally. The lycanthropy power has an optional use, so if you don't want to transform then simply don't use it. From what I've seen, it doesn't follow the cliche of forced transformations when in view of a full moon.

Probably best to use white text for spoilers as they are a little easy to see and read when scrolling down.

They use couriers in Skyrim, kind of like that elf from the thieves guild in Oblivion who gives you the note to start the questline. I was just minding my own business in Whiterun when a courier came up to me, handed me a note and then ran off crapping himself as another dragon turned up and landed right behind him.

The note was from the Greybeards and then I had to prat about going up all those steps to find them. Like I say, the training is worth it because: they give you the second part of your first shout to make it stronger and then give you the first bit of another one. Although I've yet to finish it - I was supposed to do a find this item type mission for them to continue but got horribly sidetracked by a lunatic with a hip bone he wanted me to have and that was about 4 hours of gaming ago...

I'd really encourage people to explore as much as possible - the vast majority of shouts seem to come from that method. Also, go to Whiterun, speak to Adrienne (I think that's her name) and she'll give you crap for free to practice crafting with.

If you're used to never-ending vendor coin in Oblivion, be wary because it's gone back to them only having a certain amount per transaction period so choose what you flog wisely.
