Obsidian Entertainment announced a new RPG science-fiction space adventure at the The Game Awards 2018 known as The Outer Worlds. It's currently in development for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and is the first title unveiled after Obsidian's recent acquisition by Microsoft. It's due out 2019, and will be published by Private Division, Take-Two's new label. The project is being led by Leonard Boyarsky and Tim Cain, creators of the original Fallout games.
The trailer shows off intergalactic travel, numerous planets, and sci-fi technology. A brief introduction to weapons and characters players will encounter also appear.
