Remember those guys?

They used to be huge, then they broke up, and now they're trying to do it again as a slightly more mature-sounding band. In an era where their genre is getting ignored by the public quite a bit.

Did you like them before?

Do you like them now?

Did you like Neighborhoods (2011)?

Are you incapable of caring any less about Blink-182?

Not going to lie... they were my absolute favorite band from when I was 8 to when I was 16 (first concert too), so it's hard for me not to pay attention when their name comes up. And yes, I like their music just as much now as I did in the beginning. There's something disarming about it I've never been able to put my finger on.

I recall having fond memories of them growing up as well.

In my teenage angst I liked Miss You.

Honestly, I don't know why but I could never bring myself to like them, their songs just annoyed the hell out of me for some reason.

I had a friend who used to like them though, Used to sit there gripping the chair side with my fingertips, waiting for the next song to come on; hopefully a Metallica track or a Nirvana one.

Yeah I like them, have all their songs in-fact. It is a very nostalgic kind of band for me.. They've got about 20 songs that I like quite a bit.. but I haven't heard all of their tracks, even though I have all their songs..

I like quite a few of their tracks and preferred them when they were young and seemed to be having a laugh in every music video they made. Always seemed to be jokers, much like Bowling for Soup and really fun looking guys. Didnt so much like their serious emotional tracks but the fun uplifting ones were great.

I miss you is too bittersweet for my tastes. As for the rest of their songs, never really been a fan. At the time I was a huge Madonna fan. I was a weird kid. My two siblings loved 'em though.

I have massively mixed opinions on Blink-182.

I like their famous stuff like All The Small Things, and Dammit and Mutt are alright, but they do have a tendency to use basically only 4 of the same chords which annoys me. Also, a lot of their stuff annoys me because it's just like an overly American accented corny pop punk overload on my ears. That is not to say I don't like pop punk, I like Sum 41 and Bowling For Soup, but Blink 182 seems to be a bit too average (even mediocre) for me, too much like all the other pop punk bands floating around using the same chords for every single song.

tl;dr - they have a couple of really good songs but on the whole I find them kind of annoying.

Nevermind that they were the first pop punk band...

But yeah, they are a 4-chord-song band. Normally that would bother me but for some reason it doesn't.

Is it bad that I've never heard any of their songs before?

I love how of all people here, Tsuyu is the other person who also used to love Blink 182.

It's kind of like finding your warm gooey center big guy. <3

You seem to have your fingers in all forms of music, no matter how obscure.
It's not bad, just surprising considering how these guys were everywhere circa 10 years ago.

Not even this song, Scotty?
or this one?
or even this one?

Really...? They definitely sound more poppy than other punk bands that were around at the time.
In the interest of setting the record straight, The Ramones only called themselves a rock band. It was everyone else that gave them a punk label.

I do like punk rock, listened to a fair bit of it back in the late 80s to early 90s thanks to my aunt.. but after that I got into other stuff, so naturally I missed out on a ton of artists. But the "I miss you" track, so they're the ones who did that song. I remember hearing it on the radio several times, but it was one of those stations that lacked the courtesy to state the artist of the song because "everyone knows who does it". ****, I didn't.

Thought Neighborhoods was a very underrated album. I enjoy them still and I'm quite happy they plan to release a new one.

And because you mentioned Blink 182..

Originally they were apparently going to be known as Duck Tape but Tom Delonge came up with Blink and the random number was simply because there was a techno band called Blink and they threatened to sue them.
