Final Fantasy 9, my favorite FF game and in my top 10 list of games (I only got about 2 hours into the game, so that goes to show how much I love it)
I recently Re-Bought it so I could play it after a 4 year absence... One problem: It has a problem with the PS2, which is the onyl PS I ahve or would care to use money on (PS3 is crap and it would be a waste to buy the PS1 jsut for a single game) it will not save on any memory card for the PS2, I have tried both of mine, and three of my friends' cards. and itn ever saves... Any advice? Help? Please? I would love to beat the game that has tantalised my memories with a mere 2 or so out of 15 hours of gameplay.

Re: :'(

OMFG. FINALLY someone who loves FFIX! THE best game in history. Most FF fans are FFVII/FFXI+ fanboys. Lol.

I had this problem too - just go to a pawn shop and buy a PS1 memory card for like, $2. That'll fix it.

Also, does your Disk One skip at the bell door in Burmecia, or Qu's Marsh? That includes the ATE in Evil Forest about Mogster. It skips all the time there on my PS2, but not on my PSX emulator.

Also, I'm pretty sure that to save all PS1 games, you need a PS1 memory card. Then again, FFIX is my only PS1 game.

Re: :'(

I will indeed try that, I had no idea PS1 cards worked with the PS2.

As for your question, I have no idea lol, the farthest I have gotten is the camping scene after Evil Forest when the one guy (Blank was his name?) turned to stone. Which again goes to show, it is in my top 10 list and I haven't even gotten much into it. No actually, Spyro works fine (My only other PS1 game) on the PS2 card, it is jsut FFIX O.o

Re: :'(

Ah, so you haven't passed the part right after where Blank gets petrified? Because the earliest point that I can trigger that skip, and it always happens here, is when
you're camping just outside of Evil Forest after Blank gets petrified, and the Moogle gives you the Moogle Flute to call a save Moogle anywhere on the world map.
, which triggers the Mogster ATE in which he teaches you information about the game you probably already know. Because he's in Qu's Marsh, it won't load. Just sticks at the black screen.

Anyhow, if you haven't ever beaten the game, or gotten very far in it, it's a GREAT game. Especially later on, around disk Two, you can see all the characters' personalities change, namely Zidane and Steiner.

Re: :'(

Zidane is beastly... I always liked Vivi as well... As for your glitch... I blame the Oglops. Lol.

Re: :'(

Yeah. Those damn useless things are pretty funny during the play in Disk One though, lawl. My favorite four characters are Freya, Beatrix, Kuja, and Amarant. I know, odd selection, huh? ;p

Just a little fun tip:

Start a new file, and when you get in the Theater Ship where Baku asks who you want to steal, Queen Brahne or Garnet, instead of answering Garnet, say Queen Brahne 64 times, and he gets really ****ed and yells at you. xD

Here's a picture. You can see my PS2 only has one memory card inserted, and that's my PS1 one. And you can see the screen, which shows my save files.

Re: :'(

I swear I mentioned this game in the "All time Favourite Games" thread.

My favourite character sadly enough was Blank, back when I first played through the game.

Tiamatria is completely correct when he says that all you need is a PS1 memory card. ^_^

Re: :'(

Okay, you guys are my saviors X3 thank you!! +rep

As for characters... Like I said, Zidane was always my fav out of any FF character, I always liked Vivi second best, Blank or Garnet are after that, (Something about Garnet in that White Mage dress just seemed very sensual.)

Re: :'(

I liked FFIX quite a lot simply because it seemed more traditional in terms of it's art as well as setting - the previous two games are still favourites, but they were a little more futuristic technology-wise.

It was also nice change having such a cheerful playboy as the main character, instead of the two depressed guys we had in the previous two games.

Re: :'(

Well, later on in the game, Zidane starts getting depressed, but for him, it suits him nicely, as opposed to Squall or Cloud. And because he's cheerful throughout most of the game, so it's nice that he changes with the story.

Re: :'(

^Yes I like that too, atm I cannot find a PS1 card in normal shops, so I am asking all my friends if they have one I could buy, after that I will check pawn shops then the internet.

Wow, your local pawn shops don't carry PS1 cards? Damn. Mine still carries old Sega Geneses. I think that's the plural for more than one Genesis. >.>

Re: :'(

^I haven't checked pawn shops yet, I have horrible luck at pawn shops and flea markets. They always are sticky or something, so I do them last.
