I've been here some time, posted a little, read more and i'm on and off depending on the period..

Nevertheless i'd like to know a few things..

1) How can you see (in a list not bellow the avatar) who is an admin or a mod of THIS forum?
2) I was searching in my profile for an ooooold post i had made but i was unable to find it.. does the site delete?

And well.. sort of a question... is it wrong that sometimes i can't seem the completelly appropriate section to post a thread??

1.) I think that in the list of all members (next to the button that says "Forums") it says there, also at the top of the page in the Forests of Albion section under your avatar it'll tell you which members are online at that moment.
2.) After the forum got re-vamped it basically KILLED ALL THE OLD POSTS. Sad but true.
3.) Forest of Albion is the place to ask anything that is game related, forum suggestions, introductions, games or artwork. In Bowerstone Tavern you can post whatever doesn't fit into that category. Literally ANYTHING.

ANYTHING.

Well, AychBee, that is not in just Bowerstone South. That's ine different sections of Forests of Albion. :P Discussion something that doesn't fit anywhere is to be placed in Bowerstone South.

Right? =|

2) oh... :( anyhow it doesn't matter :) If i remember what i had asked and have the same prob i can always ask again :)

thank you :D

So basicly unless for spesific topics the rest go to the tavern right? nice! :D

HB mostly answered the question already, but i'll add what i can.

forgive the absence of a list. like HB said we changed forum software a few months back. there used to be a list for your viewing convenience but it isn't back yet. i have no problem listing out the staff and their avatars, though.

Admins
projectego (commonly called by his real name, steve) - avatar of him and his kids
Dark Drakan (commonly called by his real name, andy) - avatar of John Marston from Red Dead Redemption
Angel (commonly called angel, sharon, or shaz) - avatar of what appears to be an MS pain bird on an orange background

Moderators
Tsuyu - avatar of an anime girl. it normally is a pretty perverted animated picture, but the new software doesn't animate avatars yet.
Gikoku Harakami - changes avatars frequently. usually it's young attractive asian girls who may or may not be eating fruit.

there are also Bards who report news, they are considered staff, but i'm assuming you meant those who can take administrative action. besides, there's 5-6 of them and i don't want to offend anyone by forgetting them.

2) I was searching in my profile for an ooooold post i had made but i was unable to find it.. does the site delete?
sometimes the search function can get a little difficult reaching back. it still works for all of forum history for me, and unless it was something that was rule breaking that was edited by a staff member it should still be there. try changing around the keywords and including your username. if it's far back enough you could just view all your posts in ascending order as opposed to descending order until you find it. with the recorded amount of content here ever expanding it's gotten quite massive, so it can be difficult to track down a single post.

And well.. sort of a question... is it wrong that sometimes i can't seem the completelly appropriate section to post a thread??
not at all. if you aren't sure you can always message a staff member who can move it for you. the fable sections are pretty self explanitory. but as for these forums... i'll write in what i can about forrests of albion, as the rest of them speak for themselves.

oakvale town square - only necessary to post if you are coming or leaving. also acceptable to post about why you're activity has/will be decreasing.

bowerstone south tavern - all manner of general discussion. hobbies, politics, life, fads, you name it. if you aren't sure where to put it, this is your safest bet.
-------ye olde pub games - this is no mans land. you can spam and post as much as you want, or kill some time in the forum game threads going on there. you do not gain any post count for what you put in the pub games section.

greatwood park - all general gaming. any system, era, or genre (except for fable of course, as it has 7-9 sections dedicated already). fable news can be posted in the bards corner, however. though it doesn't happen too often.

heroes guild - forum suggestions, feedback, technical problems. anything related to how the forums run for you, are run, etc. this thread would probably have been better served in the heroes guild section, but it doesn't particularly matter due to the threads very nature.

barrow fields art gallery - anything related to drawings, photoshop creations, poetry, writing, it all goes here. it's predominantly browsed by photoshop doodlers like myself, but it's not unusual for the occasional writer or poet (you know it ;) ) to show some of their work.
--------graphics request shop - speaks for its self really. if you want someone to make a signature/avatar/whatever for you then you can ask for it here. though between you and me, it might get you further to just PM someone directly and ask.

The old posts are still there as Cheez said but can sometimes be difficult to locate the ones before we moved forum software but they are still there. If you need to find a staff member while your online there is a list on the right hand side that appears when certain staff are online. If no-one is online at that time then Cheez has listed all the Admins and Moderators in his post. We used to have a forum leaders link with them all in but it isnt there currently. Any more questions dont hesitate to ask. ^_^

Your username isn't a reference to Lucky Strike cigarettes by any chance?

And yea, what Cheez said.

Yeah we really need some sort of badge system. Those userbars on ye olde forums were quite handy, as well as the different colour in account names: red for Moderators and blue for Admins as I recall.

Speaking of really old posts, is there a way you can add an "Older than" field to the search? I've often gone hunting for the first post I've ever made here, and I can never find it because the search is limited to however many results.

It's hardly an important issue, but since we're talking about it anyway.

Have to see Steves take on it and see if its a possible idea.

There are some posts which you guys will probably never find - they are on backup but have yet to be ported over to the new software - basically, there is no instant mod which does this like VBulletin did, so it means manually inputting and linking each and every thread/post which takes FOREVER. So sometimes you may click a link and be directed to somewhere else on the site completely randomly. But hey - if the thread is no longer visible, that means you can make a whole new one :D
