3D Realms Big Announcement On Way

According to a recent press release 3D Realms are to be making a 'Big' announcement in the next 4 weeks. However newly appointed creative director Raphael Van Lierop told website Gamasutra that the news is not about Duke Nukem Forever (when will we ever have news). Which could mean sequels to games such as Max Payne 3 or maybe Prey 2... who knows. However he did have this to say about the infamous Duke sequel...

I've seen it. I've played it. And I really believe that when it does come out people won't be disappointed.

So lets just hope the massive wait gamers have had for the most delayed game in history will be worth it as he claims.

When I saw the '3D Realms' in the thread title I was so hoping that there would be some news concerning Duke Nukem Forever.

Does anyone else see the irony in the games' title? I mean... Duke Nukem Forever?

Yeah i thought the same thing while reading the press release, people are starting to think Duke Nukem Forever is infact one big joke by 3D Realms to wind people up.

Yeah its crazy how long its been in the making, surely the longer it takes to make it the more dated its going to look and feel. It might even feel old and last gen from the moment it hits the shelves, the amount of updates and tweaks to improve engine they must have had to do is insane.

Nice find with the magazine scan, Tsuyu. I had no idea that this game dated back to over a decade ago - the amount of time this has been in the works on and off is insane.

Yeah its been delayed the most amount of times out of any game ever in production, even more so than S.T.A.L.K.E.R was.

Well, they`ve completely rewritten the game for new engines... I think two times.

Surely thats a lot more work than they needed to do and are only creating a harder job for themselves by delaying it so much. Im beginning to wonder if it will ever see the light of day. With so many updates and changes its bound to be full of glitches, errors and bugs.

People would buy it, just for that long waited "nostalgia".

Still, if "Forever" comes, someday, it`ll soon be forgotten. Why? Because it DID come out as any other game so... Waiting this game is much more fun than having it.

I learned to be very very patient With game makers because Release dates always get pushed back... So I will wait for the Doomyness of the next gen games!

True but with Duke Nukem Forever over ten years is quite the wait even for the most patient of gamers.
