A concern for Fable 2

I very much like the look of where Fable2 is heading but i do have a couple of concerns. It was mentioned in the family reunion demonstration that the dead husband would indeed be forever dead and never to return to the world.Does this apply to every character not controlled by an xbox player or like Fable1 will at some point we start to see a return of the dead.

Another major concern for me is how the save system is handled. For Fable 2 to feel real it needs to mimick consequence of action and it worries me that upon having decided an action, i can change this outcome by simply loading in a save some ten seconds previous. It's the very reason i don't play certain games as this inclusion pulls you out of the experience.

I've thought for a while about the "no game saves" option it would indeed make for real consequenses and given the fact you can't die why would you need to be able to make multiple saves. I agree with you on this one + Rep

I believe that Fable 2 will be similar to The Elder Scrolls, in those games when a character dies, they are dead and cannot come back.

Then don't load a previous save :)

Glad some people are on the same page Albion, this is actually more important than some folk may think.

Solus - if real life had such an option if would be great lol but of course open to abuse. In a game like this though it's important that such a feature isn't included - tension is key with this type of design and any excitement got from making good or bad descisions would be lost.Being able to rewind is simply not a good idea for Fable2 because it is trying so hard in capturing emotion.Just knowing that i can do this is enough to ruin this experience for many and would in fact be a bad design choice

Re: A concern for Fable 2

Maybe it's something on a different level, but has anyone ever heard of a system of saving where it erases all progress when you die? Now that's hardcore... not so sure it would benefit game sales either.

Re: A concern for Fable 2

Yeah REAL hardcore and you're probably right, the games industry might grind to a halt

Even though some, even many, players would like it the industry needs to aim for a larger market to be able to get a finance-report free from the big bad red capital letters. :P
