A New Halo 3? Bungie's New Project

So as some of you may know for the past dozen hours or so Bungie.net, the official site for the makers of the Halo series has been taken over by a "Emergency" countdown that ended this morning. Upon ending Bungie released a teaser for their next project:

We over at Halo.bungie.org are trying to decipher what exactly it is and have so far agreed that it will take place around the events of Halo 2, but will somehow be an add-on of some sort to Halo 3. We still have a lot of figuring out to do though...

Because the Halo series is a trilogy, thus ending with Halo 3. So I guess in order to avoid breaking that rule, Bungie is adding on to Halo 3.

Because the Halo series is a trilogy, thus ending with Halo 3. So I guess in order to avoid breaking that rule, Bungie is adding on to Halo 3.

Nah, sorry mate don't believe that, the ending of the 3rd was such an open ending, and no i believe Master Chief is not dead. Their are too many Halo project 3 un-named (2 rumored to be Halo: Chronicles and Halo:Forerunner) and Halo Wars, oh and don't forget they occasioanlly chuck in the canceled project like that Halo MMO, that was recently confirmed.. :S
For me i'm so confused which of these is goin to be a halo 4, and this is just another added to the list

Rumours are that its some kind of expansion of sorts for Halo 3. However the GFX style in that movie looks totally different from Halo 3.

Nope. It has already been put in stone by Bungie. Despite Halo 3's ending, and the fact that Master Chief is still alive and lost in space, the continuation of HIS story will not be continued. At least not in the form of a game. All of the other projects being worked on involve new storylines revolving around the Halo Universe but none are Halo 4.
What we have here has been pretty much been confirmed to be some sort of add-on to Halo 3.

i think it's a spin-off but the Halo 3 logo, is different, i hope it has master chief though

It's not going to be the Chief you play as. The explosion that happens (it's not the one that happens when Regret's ship jumps in Halo 2) didn't occur while the Chief was around. We're thinking you'll be playing as an ODST that came in one of the drop pods shown in the trailer. No idea what the storyline will be though.
