Call me cynical, but I need to know...
Now that I've become ruler of Albion I have had to make a few financial decisions about the future of the country. Of course, anything that is good for the people costs money, I'm shocked (not really). But now that part of the "story" quests involve running off to find a huge diamond in the Auroran desert I suddenly started to wonder.
Looking at just the story quests (without spending weeks collecting personal wealth for the treasury), did Lionhead make it so that in the process of the story quests you can do all of the good things for the country and have just enough money for their defense and have everyone live happily ever after in the end?
Note, I'd like no specific spoilers just a simple yes or no. Either:
Yes, no matter what choices you make to drain the coffers there are just enough treasure hunting quests you are forced to go on, to make sure that Albion survives.
or
No, if you drain the coffers and do very little to add your personal wealth to the treasury there is a decent chance things will not turn out so well for the country.
