A specific question about movement

Howdy all - new here. I searched for this question and I think I have the answer but wanted to ask it directly. Seems so long ago that I played Fable TLC on PC & I sorta remember traveling from one "area" to the next but those areas were fairly large (again if my failing memory serves me).

Also - coming from the traveling experience of Oblivion (which I also picked up) my question deals specifically with moving around.

Oblivion movement can obviously take a long LONG time to get from one area to the next (if you want it to). Quite often you'll stumble upon one cool area or another.

I'm still quite early in the game (Fable 2 now) but I'm wondering if I'm 'fast traveling' when I don't want to be. For instance, when I dispatch with Thag the bandit and the road to Bowerstone opens the guard waves me through and then I arrive in Bowerstone. Is this the fast travel?

Also, leaving the upper part of Bowerstone to head over to Oakridge I leave the town gate and then 'boom' I'm at the area with the bandits and broken down caravan.

Both of these instances occur when I enter (or leave) the golden arch area.

Again I'd rather not fast travel unless I start to get bored and so far I truly doubt that is going to happen. Heck - that crazy mini-game as a blacksmith I stayed at it and got all of the way up to a 5-star rating.

Re: A specific question about movement

Fast travel is when you select your destination from the Start menu adn auto transport there.

Re: A specific question about movement

Yeah, you can't just stumble upon places in fable I'm afraid :( one of the many reasons why Elder Scrolls is better. Wlecome to the forums btw
