Sadly, I can't even get the first clue! I looked up on it on google, and one thing I found said you have to do parts of it during certain times in the storyline. Is this true?

yes. you will have beaten the game by the time you can get the last clue. but, the first one is in bowerstone old town i think. what does the clue say?

My question is can I do the quest once I've beaten the game? And it says that her research proves that the artifact is located in the oldest part of town.

yeah its in bowerstone old town, and yes you can wait till the main quest is over to the archialogist quest. as soon as you enter old town your dog will leed you to it.

The same thing happened to me with the archaeology artifact in Westcliff. If I teleported there, the dog would just stand there like a retard, as well as if I walked there from the Bandit Coast. However, when I sailed there from Bloodstone, the dog found it. So try entering from Market, Cemetary, and Rookridge and see what happens.

I tried all three different entry locations and my dog still won't find anything! Am I royally ****ed?

u can get 1 gem from the hollowman in bowerstone cemetry 1 gem from chesty the chest in brightwood tower when you sleep in the bed in the top of the tower and the last gem u can get from the archeologist quest
