Xbox studio World's Edge held an event to mark the Age of Empires franchise 25th anniversary and had some very interesting announcements during the broadcast.
First of all they announced that the classic RTS Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition will be available on Xbox consoles and Xbox Cloud Gaming via Game Pass on January 31st 2023. Followed by the most recent release Age of Empires IV later in the year.
The following features have also been announced:
- Crossplay between console and PC
- Controller and Keyboard and Mouse Support
- New Controller tutorial
- Revamped onboarding experience for newcomers
- New AI to help make resource management “efficient and intuitive.”
