Albion, Samarkand, Aurora?

~Albion- a place of rolling hills and mighty oak tree's, colassal mountains and ancient castles, ugly inhabitants and immortal childeren
~Samarkand- a place of head splitting monks, "exotic spices and uninhibited inhabitants", a discombobulated population of asians, African americans and caucasians.
~Aurora- Whats that? :alien:
Hopefully Lionhead wont screw up this new opportunity to create something unique about their latest installment Fable III
Thoughts? How do you picture all of these continents while you read those ever so..... "whitty" items descriptions?

Re: Albion, Samarkand, Aurora?

I think someone said Albion was the equivelent of Britain and Aurora was the equivelent America

Re: Albion, Samarkand, Aurora?

According to the concept art aurora is a bit of a deserty wastelandish feeling/ looking place.

Nope, Aurora is the equivalent to Morocco/Middle East as said in the OXM report.

Ooh, do we get to ride Arabian stallions around and create a stampede?

Hammer went up North to the fighter monks, not to Samarkand. They are not in Samarkand.

Re: Albion, Samarkand, Aurora?

What... I thought Aurora was supposed to be like America... Oh dammit I'm lost.

Re: Albion, Samarkand, Aurora?

No!
It was discovered like America!

Re: Albion, Samarkand, Aurora?

Read the OXM report and you'll see that Aurora is a 'Middle-Eastern place filled with dusty barren ladnscapes and cultures and architecture stemming from Morocco.'

Re: Albion, Samarkand, Aurora?

Well I'll take your word for it. At least we won't have to live through typical patriotic garbage amirite?

I kid.

Re: Albion, Samarkand, Aurora?

The only one I've heard of is Albion? What's aurora and Samarkand? pLZZ tell!

Re: Albion, Samarkand, Aurora?

All I know of Samarkand is that it was mentioned at the end of Fable 2. Aurora is a new continent in Fable 3.

Daichi Description-"This exceptional sword once belonged to the legendary Zuna Daichi, a female warrior monk whose exploits in Eastern Samarkand have become part of popular myth. There are stories that she may have visited Albion once, while on a quest. Perhaps it was in this land that she died, and here she left her katana."

Based on this description, i think we can all come to the conclusion that there are different area's of Samarkand. I wasnt refuring to Hamer's exploits, but to the warrier monks who create the Katana's in eastern samarkand. Also, in the "Rising Sun" melee sword description it mentions the previous owner was from a "long extinct Southern Samarkand Tribe for whom dawns were sacred."
Based on the current known facts, im guesing there will be only 3 continents in the world of Fable because..
Albion-Europe
Aurora-Middle East
Samarkand-Asia + Africa.
MOlynuex is inspired by true life events/places, so for him to think of some new type of warrier monk in Northern Samarkand would be a little odd.

Basicly Samrakand is equivalent to Asia and Africa
and Aurora is equivalent to the Middle east (Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, ect, ect.)

I know;), i was merely wondering how others interpeted the description. The middle east is a HUGE place, it could range from rain forests to deserts, or even both!

Britain has MANY similarities with America, seeing we have a similar climate, we speak the same language, and well... we used to be a britaish colony;):P
BUT, i see what you mean. i can only hope America's boring history wont taint the magical world of Fable 3:D:wub:

Re: Albion, Samarkand, Aurora?

It could be quite interesting to see the relationship between Aurora and Albion - given that Aurora could be seen as Middle Eastern, and during the Victorian era of Britain there was a massive growth in the British empire, and again that the 'Welley's soldier' clothing in See The Future blatantly refers to Sir Wellington's army, we could see some invasion of Aurora by the Albion people, or vise versa.

Here's a pic of said army:

Given this, I reckon we can definately see some conquering of foreign lands in Fable 3.

Re: Albion, Samarkand, Aurora?

This may have nothing to do with this, but will you finally be able to go to the "north" in this game? I know in the 2nd (and maybe the first) they talked about a place in the north with warrior monks, and it disappointed me you could never go up there.

Re: Albion, Samarkand, Aurora?

Well in Fable TLC, you could go to the Northern Wastes, which was awesome, and in Hook Coast there was that old Monastery which might have been home to warrior monks, can't remember.
