"And so our story beings..."

In Fable I you was in the Hero's Guild, and went on a quest to avenge your family and defeat Jack of Blades.

In Fable II you grew up to avenge you Sister, only to find yourself caught up in a struggle, finding the three Heroes, then stopping Lucien from using the Spire.

In Fable III you start as a rebel, and make your way up in power to finally land a critical blow on Logan, the rest is unknown (save you being the King/Queen).

So, how do you like Fable's storylines? And how do you think the third one's will be? Which would you prefer?

Re: "And so our story beings..."

III>>II>>I

The only thing the plot of Fable I has is Jack of Blades.

Re: "And so our story beings..."

Why is it that in every fable the entire plot has been around dead family members and revenge?

Hero of Oakvale - Vengence on jack of blades.

Hero of bowerstone - Vengence on Lucien

Fable III hero - Vengence on logan (Logan kills their parents and hes an asshole)

Actually even the hero of southcliff was on quest for vengence.

I wonder if Pmolly is trying to send out some sort of subliminal message.

Re: "And so our story beings..."

I>II ? III
Fable one looked bigger in story to me, since it was about you vs a crafty powerful other dimensional being. To me the second lost alittle of that spark; it was fighting a king who left and tried to make a wishing tower by slave labor to ether wish his family back or mess up civilization again. Either way the ending battle was too soon; I thought that he would use the power of the spire and become god-like and there would be an epic battle inside of the spire; the final battle turned out to be fighting a larger spire and then 30 min later you ether shoot Lucian or watch Rever take the glory.

Re: "And so our story beings..."

the only subliminal message PM would send out was to give him your money and set up a new religion with him at the head. not that im suggesting PM is a power crazed soon to be dictator with several psychosis issues and a superiority complex.

amendment: sorry i forgot to quote. post#3

Re: "And so our story beings..."

Vengence is popular storyline.

Re: "And so our story beings..."

I believe the second half will just be the war with Aurora. The Waurora! WAHAHAHAHAHH...oh that was quite idiotic...

Fable - Fable The Lost Chapters
When you were young your village was burned to the ground from a bandit raid. You lost all your family and you could not survive. A hero appears, Maze which leads you to the hero's guild, where you wake your heroic blood.

After some years of quests and heroic deeds, good or evil, you meet your sister and learn the truth about her past, after you heroically fight in the arena your sister tells you the truth about whom murdered your father: Jack of Blades.

You go into the worst place in all Albion, Bargate Prison to save your mother. However, Jack of Blades stops you and puts you in jail for year while he is free to roam Albion for a year.

However, you escape, learn more about the Sword of Aeon's and you fight the person who saved you, Maze. When Maze falls your blood calls for revenge upon Jack of Blades.

The place you grew, your home was burning, the Hero's Guild, you fight Jack of Blades and ultimately defeating him. However, it was not over yet, you discover after years that Jack of Blades is alive, you reach the farthest part of Albion where you meet the oracle and sacrifice hero souls to open the gates and fight Jack of Blades as a dragon, ultimately killing him and saving Albion.

Fable II
500 years have passed since the fight Jack of Blades in his dragon form. Albion grew up and guns were created, the hero's guild doesn't exist and Bowerstone's a big city now.

You are poor child that lives in Bowerstone with your sister, Rose. However, the events lead you to the music box and ancient artifact which grants wishes, however Lucien Fairfax murders your sister and tries to do so with you.

However you survive, take on the quest to destroy Lucien and take Revenge, you spend years to find every hero with certain sacrifices and spend long years in the Spire to save Garth, the hero of the will.

Ultimately, you destroy the person that killed your sister, Lucien Fairfax and Theresa uses the power of the Spire to grant your one and only wish.

Fable III
50 years have passed since the events of little sparrow. However, Albion now it's into the industrial age. Your father/mother was once a great king/queen however it's now dead and your brother Logan takes over the kingdom causing it to fall into tyranny and despair.

You escape from your castle as a young prince/princess and start your revolution. Where you defeat your brother, Logan and take over the kingdom and you will rule it yourself. Will you be a good leader? Or a worser tyrant than your brother?

Final Opinion
After I have briefly talked about the three storyline which the games take place. I believe that the best storyline lies in Fable III. Of course, the first Fable is great, epic and legendary, however Fable III has a depth and an opening for many storyline plots, betrayals and much else that we will hopefully see in the game's release.

Fable II's storyline could have been better. However, do not categorize it as "bad" Compared to the first Fable it has a better design and depth in the story, of course it's not epic however you can feel the world of Fabe, Albion around you and see how your wish for vengeance where will lead you.

Fable seems to be mostly about vengeance and what you will become. Will you let the thirst for vengeance make you evil and murderer? Or you will learn from the world and become truly a hero?

Re: "And so our story beings..."

Fable 1 was fresh and I'd never really seen anything like it, it was hard to find things wrong with it, all the new things that sort of needed work "could be fixed in 2 since they were still testing things".

that's probably not as true as I would have liked to believe.
The only thing I could honestly say is I felt constrained by the guild, felt like the story was a little shallow, hated theresa and her whining or nonsense and adored jack of blades.
I swear jack is to the fable community as sephiroth is to the ff7 community, though the men don't act like complete fangirls.

2 was a disaster story wise it was full of lackluster characters, pointless missions, complete shallowness and transparent betrayals, in fact I have no idea how my storyline went since I was apparently playing theresa's the whole time.

3 sounds a lot better i hope that being a leader will finally let me just make my story without being forced to be manipulated or forced to care about some whiny family member who i didn't care about.

honestly in two I wanted to shake lucien's hand just for making rose shut up so I could be on my adventurous way. Then the whole game turned out to be about that nonsense.

Eh, maybe this is why I like Reaver so much.

Re: "And so our story beings..."

Fable > Fable III > Fable II.

The whole overthrowing a tyrannical ruler thing is BEYOND cliche at this point. Still, it beats the storyline of Fable II.
