Hey fellow forumers, I was just wondering if anyone else out there has rooted/loaded a custom OS onto their Android? I recently installed Cyanogenmod after some difficulty with the restriction Samsung is placing on it's Australian Android releases. Had some difficulty getting it on there (wouldn't recognise my sim for a long time, etc). It's working now though and I really like it. All the cool customisation options and just the nerd elitism I feel now that I can say to people "Oh, you run stock Android? What a loser."

Anyone else mess with this kind of thing?

Ok so after using it for a couple of days, turns out my battery life is horrible. Like it will break even when charging and not move, but otherwise use about 20% an hour. Darn.

Gonna move back to stable version of it to see if that works. Anyone else had this?

Ha! No, but the battery on my Samsung phone has always burned itself out like crazy. The thing consumes power like a drunk consumes booze.

I leave complicated **** like special OSes to my brother.
