Anyone excited about Mortal Kombat?

I've been a Mortal Kombat fan ever since Trilogy. I loved most of the games they released. Well except Deadly Alliance and Armageddon. Those were disappointing in my opinion. And now hearing about the new one coming out in 2011 I think I may actually like it. They made a comeback, with MK vs DC, even though many options were cut out the gameplay was much more smoother. And seeing how the 9th game is going back to it's 2D roots with 2D plane fighting and more gore and more gruesome fatalities I think this new installment might be awesome.

there are plenty of bloodier and gorier games out there with a more fluid combat system.
that's why i get my gore fix with ninja gaiden and my fighter fix with dbz, soul calibur, and dead or alive.

wtf, DBZ? Absolutely no gore, same with Soul Calibur. Idk about dead or alive or ninja gaiden cuz I never played those. But just look at the new fatalities for the new mortal kombat. They are so much more gruesome than ever before. I can't wait to see that in the new game. But i doubt i'll ever be able to play that when parents are home. you sure you got the right definition of gore...?


And if you ever played Deception or DC the combat system was very fluid. Especially in Deception when you play conquest mode and learn all the combos for the main character. Learning long ass combos are simply pushing the buttons in order really well paced. DC was greatly different from the other games but the system was much more fluid. No need for unnecessary button mashing.

Whoops. Misread. Eh, to be honest I'm liking Tekken 6. But the Mortal Kombat series will always have a special place in my heart. Sure you get your gore and fighter separately, but I think its awesome molded in to a game. I love learning crazy combos in fighters and I just love senseless violence. And the fact that I get to serious destroy my enemies after defeating them is a plus. Like the beauty of a fatality, I would say is that every character has their own unique one based on their style and personality and they just come up with some beautiful ways to kill someone. But some fatalities in the upcoming game look a little bit too gruesome. Like the Kung Lao one, every time i see it, it makes me cringe. Like the thing about the upcoming one is that it's coming back to it's 3D roots and its also getting a much more serious and darker tone.
