Anything to make pc games not laggy?

For example there's a game booster from Iobit, but it doesn't seem to work whatsoever (I only have it because I have their SystemCare thing.)

So, any ideas, tips, programs or advice to give me?

I do not have a gaming laptop, I have 200gb ram or whatever and 2gb hard drive (or the other way around, I cannae remember which) and the game I am talking about is Fable: TLC and it's in-game lag, not when I'm in the options menu. I've tried reducing the quality but it doesn't do much for the lag.

Thanks in advance.

turning the resolution and and overall quality down can help.

also depending on the game you can adjust the framerate to run smoother...at least i was told it helped

Most likely 2 gigabytes worth of RAM and 200 gigabytes worth of harddrive space.

I'd kill for 200 gigabytes worth of RAM! :P

By the sounds of it you have a lot of garbage running in the background (like that care-thingy). Press CTRL-ALT-DEL and bring up "Processes". Identify which of those are these garbage programs and turn 'em off.

thanks, how would I go about adjusting the framerate?

if it isn't in options it's likely a console command.
you could probably find it if you took the time to mess with the console or if you just did a google search.

Tsuyu has probably got the right idea so far as background processes can chew up your memory and cause lag quite often. Just google lots of the processes and see if they are essential ones and disable all the ones that arent. Do not disable anything you are unsure about as you may disable a critical windows process.

Ccleaner is a good way to stop them restarting themselves when you restart the computer. You can disable them to stop them starting when your PC boots up.
