First off, I give this game 8/10 it was very fun to play, but there are aspects of this game that ****ed me off. I'm going to say what I like about the game, then what I hated. Spoilers from here on out.

1. Sea battles- This aspect was awesome, it was just to realistic.
2. Hunting-This was fun and there is loads of game to hunt.
3.Multi player- Very unique and fun, although on a separate disc and requires a Uplay account.
4. Seasonal changes to environment are nice.
5. Showed some reasons for the the British side of the conflict, not entirely demonizing them.

Now for what I hated.

Protagonist- Connor is a half Native American Assassin. His character is more of a douche than Desmond. His motivation is always skewed and unclear.

Gameplay- You start off as Connor's father on his way to the New world, you are literally on a ship for TWO hours, this whole sequence was absolutely unneeded. You continue as his father for another few hours, almost one third of the game is basically a tutorial all to reveal a shocker that was not shocking in the slightest. Finally, you can play as Connor were you have another tutorial before you can go on real missions. There are hardly any weapons and clothes to choose from in the game, you literally never have to buy a single item to beat the game. On top of that, some equipment is game breaking, I can rope people to the ground and shoot them removing any challenge they would have. Missions are alright, except the historic battles, which is basically a press x feature. The cities don't have very good roof tops and such, destroying the best feature in the game, the forests are very climb-able, but it is not as fast and fluid, and I ended up fast traveling or riding a horse.

Storyline- Absolute retardation. You are in the thick of a US history lesson, actually quite accurate according to our history books (shame) but the whole conflict is in no way tied into the eternal fight between the templars and Assassins, they are just there to serve the needs of the given party. This just really ****ed me off, Connor confronts the templars and asks why they'd ever be siding with the brits and they say ah screw the brits we just want control, that does not make sense at all. Later Connor speaks of the idea of Assassins and Templars joining forces, throwing his whole quest for revenge away.

What killed me was the ending, which also killed the series. In the end of the game Desmond is presented with two choices, allow the 2012 apocalypse to occur, surviving you would resurface and spawn the Catholic religion, which would be twisted into evil by people and used to control people. The second choice was die and stop the apocalypse from happening, but you would release an evil ghost onto the world who would take it over. WHAT THE F***. Um what about the templars???? What is at stake for them? What of the Assassins? Desmond chooses to listen to the ghost and save humanity, why didn't she do the same 70,000 years ago instead of imprisoning herself and waiting for all this to play out???

What made me mad was that the whole modern day aspect of the series could have been scrapped because of this ending, you could have just played through the ancestors lives without an animus at all. I thought that eventually we would play directly as Desmond, in modern day scaling sky scrapers like Spiderman with all his ancestors knowledge. I guess not.
