Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood Gameplay & Release Date

In a gameplay demo, Ubisoft says new gameplay mechanics will be available to give the player "more memorable moments." "We want you to take the offensive," they said, and it seems you'll have plenty of options to do so. Players can now ride horses for advanced swordplay, man canons, and more. During a large skirmish, Ezio held down the fort on a rooftop shooting canon balls at the opposition below. An ally would aid by manually reloading the cannon after each shot. On a bridge Ezio took down several foes with fancy melee attacks slicing down enemies with a blade, and what appeared to be a giant axe so you can chop dudes like a tree. Sweet. At the end of the live demo Ezio's newest adversary shoots him and our hero takes a dramatic fall off the bridge. While Ezio has lost this battle, the war is far from over.

Finally, Ubisoft promises to introduce a "fresh and innovative multiplayer game" to the Assassin's Creed franchise, but doesn't really tell us how they plan to do so. Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood will be available on November 16, 2010.

I love the gun and sword combos. And the fact that you can throw weapons at your enemies is sick. Thanks Gikoku

You're welcome. I'm really interested in this, I've never played an Assassin's Creed game before so I can see I've missed out on a lot. Perhaps I'll pick up AC2 over the summer while waiting for this to come out.

^At least read the story of AC1 on wikipedia or something because the story is based on real historical events and you've gotta get it from the start. I'd suggest you start off with picking up AC1 (rent or something) and play that because there are little details in the story that'll enlighten you and you need to fully understand the first one for the second.

Alright, I'll probably pick them both up together for a back-to-back play. ^_^

You have definitely been missing out m8. Excellent gameplay video ! +rep The first game had repetition issues in regards to missions but the second game revolutionised the series ! I'm gonna be so skint in the next few months lol ! Fable III, AC: B, FIFA 11, etc

The scale of the game seems to have been upped massively, that was quite a war going on. Also i liked the destructible scenery in the cannon section (looks rather like the cannon sections in RDR). New moves look awesome with sword and gun play switches and that throw with the axe was a sight to behold.
