Assassins Creed or Mass Effect?

Assassins Creed and Mass Effect both comes out on the same month.
Its hard for me to choose because i like games in futuristic and medieval settings and rpgs is my favourite genre.
what would you rather get if you could choose only one?

Re: Assassins Creed or Mass Effect?

I dont think id ever be able to choose between them. :O

However i think Mass Effect will have the more replayability and be the longer gaming experience. Also with Xbox Live content already being worked on id say it will be the better deal.

Re: Assassins Creed or Mass Effect?

That's a toughie... ^_^

I reckon I would still go for Mass Effect though. As DD said, there's bound to be a whole lot more re-playability with Mass Effect and DD knows a heck of alot more about Mass Effect about me. Don't get me wrong, Assassin's Creed is gonna' be fantastic, it's just that I'd personally lean more towards Mass Effect.

Oh yeah, be sure to check out either our Assassin's Creed Forum or Mass Effect Forum, depending of which game you decide to buy. It's win-win whichever you decide, though. =]

Why didnt i think of the shameless self promotion *slaps self in head*.

Re: Assassins Creed or Mass Effect?

I love shameless self promotion.

I'm gonna have to go for Assassins Creed. I agree with everything said above, but I'm more into the medieval setting.

My plan is to get Assassins Creed on the 16th, then Mass Effect for Christmas... Assuming I can dodge my $700 phone bill:unsure:

Re: Assassins Creed or Mass Effect?

Mass Effect, no contest...
Assassin's Creed is sure to be an interesting game, and I really like the futuristic setting of all it's intrigue and such, but Mass Effect is just so much better...
it's Bioware... that should be enough...
character customization, party interaction, moral choice, romance options, a galaxy to explore, 60 hours of story, additional story through DLC... no contest...

Re: Assassins Creed or Mass Effect?

Wow! That's a hard choice. I am partial to sword play and the medieval realm but I think Mass Effect will have a better storyline. Maybe that's because I've read Revelation. These are both going to be Awesome games.

Re: Assassins Creed or Mass Effect?

Mass Effect might have sex sences..... But I went with Assassin's Creed.

Re: Assassins Creed or Mass Effect?

That is a tough decision but as many above said Mass Effect will have alot more role-playing possibilities and choices....

But if you can free roam in Assassins Creed I think it will have a good roleplaying possibility to unlike where u get a mission ur sent to a town when finished you teleport back to this place to choose another mission etc... i hope it isnt like that... (like: Tenchu Z altho its still a fun game somewhat.)

Its going to have a flowerbox style rather than that of a freeroam sandbox style. Basically meaning you will have objectives to get to but will have room for roaming around inbetween and take whatever way there as you please. However not fully freeroam as its very story driven too.

Re: Assassins Creed or Mass Effect?

Ah man, so after you finish missions it takes you back somewhere? or what?

No it wont effect your location, you finish mission and then carry on from that location and proceed towards your next one.

Re: Assassins Creed or Mass Effect?

From what I`ve seen, Mass Effect has disappointed me - I mean theres been so much talk about it, but when I saw a video I was... "Hmm, that`s not good!"
Assassins Creed on the other hand, looks like a very nice game.
Maybe I`ve just been watching the wrong videos.

Just what didnt impress you? To me it looks like what could be the best RPG experience for many many years and for many years to come.

Dont tell me you judged it on one video...

Best dialog choices ive ever seen, best customisation ive ever seen, branching story and real choices that actually effect the path of the game, different endings, ability to play as male and female and choose your origins. This is just the basic outline of the game, couldnt really do it justice in a couple of lines, how can that not be impressive?

That`s exactly what I said.
OK, I want to say that I don`t really know anything about Mass Effect and I most certainly don`t want to say that it`s a bad game, I just like Assassin`s Creed more.
And that one video... it was bad. But now I`m watching another one and it looks completely different.
Still, Assassin`s Creed seems better.

Thats what i picked up on, cant say a games bad based on one video and Mass Effect and bad should never be said in same sentence. Unless that sentence is What a badass game thats going to be. Bioware and 'bad' just does not happen.

Pretty much summed it up nicely there, Mistress.

And I've never been that interested in Asassin's Creed to be honest, so no contest.

Re: Assassins Creed or Mass Effect?

I've never played a Bioware game in my life so for me to make a choice based on them being "great" or whatever would be nuts - I have no idea if they are any good as far as I am concerned.

If I were to base my decision on videos alone, I'd say Assassin's Creed but that's only because I've seen more AC than ME vids. The ME vids I have seen have shown similar content and I've yet to get a better feel for what the game may be like. However, the book Revelation has really sparked my interest and I'd like to see if the game really does live up to the hype - up to now, nothing I have ever seen in films or in games has been up to its own promotion material...

I don't know enough about either game to decide which one I prefer - let me play both when they come out and I'll let you know ;)

Re: Assassins Creed or Mass Effect?

I was just watching a video (the first one I've seen) and from that, it looks more like a shooter anyways... But I'm just starting to learn about it now....

Re: Assassins Creed or Mass Effect?

I think it's quite hard to really put all the attention-grabbing components of an RPG into a short ad or promo film anyway...how do you make conversation options or some guy walking around exciting? But throw in some action, like a battle or something similar and it looks far more inviting and will hopefully grab people's attention.
