Backwards Compatibility.

Hi.
I have really enjoyed Fable 2. But, i was wondering if the Xbox 360 will play the original Fable on Backwards compatibility, or can you play any original xbox game on the 360 using Backwards compatibility as long as you don't play the game on Xbox Live.
Thanks

Re: Backwards Compatibility.

I think you can play Xbox games on backwards compatibility and XBL

Re: Backwards Compatibility.

Yup! According to the official Xbox 360 Backwards Compatability List (link), both Fable and Fable: The Lost Chapters are supported and will run on an Xbox 360. Happy Fablin'!

Re: Backwards Compatibility.

It's always good to check the official Backwards Compatibility list.
I have to deal with quite a number of people at work who seem to think the disk itself doesn't work.
Would've been devasted if Fable wasn't on it :|

While we're on the topic of playing Fable on the 360, does anyone know if it's possible to copy it to the hard drive?
I couldn't seem to find the option.
I like having them on it, just to stop the console being noisy and help combat potential overheating.

Re: Backwards Compatibility.

I heard from a friend that even if you download a game to the hard drive, you still need the disc to play.

Re: Backwards Compatibility.

Yeah, you do. It asks you to insert the disk if you try to play it from the hard drive.
It's just good to prevent overheating and the fans don't need to be on which tops the irritating whirring noise they make.
Not so good if you're playing an atmospheric game.

All it does is make your game run smoother, shorter loading times, less lag and all that. It really makes Fable 2 a much more enjoyable expirience.

Re: Backwards Compatibility.

I got Fable the lost chapters today for £5.
I hope it works?!

By the way, Fable: The lost chapters, its not the first Fable game, is it?

Re: Backwards Compatibility.

Kinda, Fable was the first Fable game but the TLC part didn't come untill the games PC release.

Re: Backwards Compatibility.

It's basically just got a load of extra stuff - new regions, new quests, new items etc.
A much expanded version of Fable.
So it's not really worth getting Fable if you're able to get your hands on TLC.
Took my ages to find it though, hardly anywhere seems to do original Xbox games round here.
Thank god for my job!

Re: Backwards Compatibility.

You'll never believe it but...
I found TLC in a charity shop!

What shop?!
That's crazy! To think someone gave it away, too.
How much did you get it for?

Re: Backwards Compatibility.

why do all the charity shops near me have nothing but granny clothes and odd cups in?
my copy of tlc broke a couple of months ago, got if for the pc but i'd rather have it on the xbox!

I got in a British Heart Foundation Shop for £5.
The best part is that, just up the road is a shop where that person could have got money for it.
I have even bought PS1 games from this charity shop and sold them to the games shop. (Metal gear solid + An extra training disc. Which they were selling seperately.)

I used to think charity shops only did Granny clothes. But, if you have got the time and patience to look and keep looking, you may just get lucky!

Sometimes you can find PS1 games, The odd PS2 game, cheats discs...
When i saw Fable TLC... Well, i thought... JACKPOT!
