Game Informer has announced the game that will grace the cover of the upcoming March 2011 issue, and it will be no other than the exclusive premier of Battlefield 3. Battlefield 3 will be developed by DICE, and will feature an all-new engine that DICE has used in other Battlefield games, and the engine will be "Frostbite 2". EA has just released a teaser for Battlefield 3, and Battlefield 3 has an expected release window for Fall 2011. Battlefield 3 will be available on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. Lots of games coming this fall. Will Battlefield come back on top this fall? Maybe on PC only.

Not much but I thought I might as well post it.

Cant wait to see new engine in action.

Same, Bad Company 2 was fantastic. I can only imagine how well Battlefield 3 is going to turn out.

I most enjoyed the sound effects, odd thing to say but they nailed the gunshot and explosion sounds so well it actually added to the experience. Also interested to see the much loved Destruction being improved upon because it could be a little inconsistent in Bad Company 2. I want to see how much can be destroyed in Battlefield 3.

I'm also pretty eager to see the new destruction aspects. This probably sounds a bit too demanding but I wouldn't mind seeing large 4+ story city blocks crashing down, now that I would like to see. Maybe the ability to pilot jet fighters on the largest maps as well. I think what they really need to fix more than anything is the abundance of snipers that there are running the recon kit at one time.

Whenever I play rush, half My team are using the recon kit and do not contribute to the team whatsoever. I saw an improvement video on Youtube that suggests that in order to remedy this problem in Battlefield 3, it would be best to limit the amount of people able to field the recon kit at one time (first come first serve, 2 recons per team max.) Only when one of those recon players die can another one take their play as the 2nd recon player, sounds like a good idea to me. It would ultimately force would be campers into playing the more usefull kits and playing as a team.

I too am sometimes frustrated by the snipers but best way to deal with them sometimes is to become one yourself after they have given away their position as they often stay in the same spot. Then take them out with sniper rifle or mortar strike yourself. If they limited the class then you might not be able to do this right away and by time a 'slot' opens for you to select it then they could have moved. I think some level redesigns and having more buildings to use as sniper cover would be a better idea or some armoured vehicles that snipers struggle to take out and need to call for help from engineers more often.

Yeah you have a point there, more cover in the maps would probably help a lot. More flanking roots would be a welcome addition also, that way you could get the jump on them easier.

Yeah Vietnam was a good example with choke points on maps and multiple routes to areas. That helps avoid sniper fire if its concentrated in one location. Can merely flank them from another position or sneak your way around and drop a mortar strike in that area. Some maps are also a testament to how easy it can be to pin a team right back into their spawn point however and is rather cheap. Hopefully that can be remedied too.

Just read a quote from Game Informer that said the following:

There will be an earthquake in a level in the game. The destruction sounds very impressive. 7 story building collapses, looks very well done

So there is a distinct possibility that you could get your wish and then some.

Earthquakes? Seven story buildings? Oh I'm loving this. Think of the carnage!

Yeah its meant to be part of the single player campaign and a way to showcase the destruction im guessing.
