Seems EA are doing their hardest to shed the reputation they once had for being a money hungry company and releasing another free Battlefield title. Known as Battlefield Play4Free and is a totally different experience from the previous free Battlefield game, Battlefield Heroes. Battlefield Heroes was a cartoon styled take on a third-person shooter, However Play4Free is a full-on FPS, with the realistic visuals you'd expect from the Battlefield series. The graphics arent as polished as other retail Battlefield games and say the Call Of Duty series but for a free game they arent to shabby.
Some details about the game are as follows:
The game has vehicles (16 in total), sandbox gameplay and 32-player battles are included along with maps inspired by the other games in the series and classes and weapons from Battlefield: Bad Company 2.
The game also uses the same weapon model from Bad Company 2 and players are able to upgrade and customise their characters. Money will be made via micro-transactions but there's also an in-game currency that can be earned as you play.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VtAIYGpyW8QSenior producer James Salt had the following to say about the title.
James Salt said:It's kind of the best of Battlefield, We've taken these classic maps that are all really popular, we've got the micro-transaction and growing your soldier over time aspect from Heroes and then we've got the classes from Bad Company that everyone likes. They've been glued together quite well to make a whole new experience.
