Being a mommy, well not exactly...
Yesterday on the walk over to my humble abode, my friend heard a strange sound coming from under some leaves and decided to investigate it. Lo and behold, she uncovered a nest of five abandoned kittens. They're so tiny, they're only about 2-3 weeks old.
This was yesterday afternoon and they were on the verge of death, they were soaked to the bone and freezing, but we managed to get them warm and feed them formula from an eye dropper.
But now, Amanda (the kittens' savior) is gone back to her house and I'm here with all five kittens sleeping in a box with a heating pad and blankets, just waiting for them to wake up so I can feed them and whatnot. Seriously, this is difficult. It's like taking care of an infant. There is little to no sleep, I got about three hours last night (which may not seem like a big deal to people used to pulling all-nighters, but I'm an 8-10 hours of beauty sleep kind of lass).
I'm exhausted and no one is willing to help me out. My lazy sisters would rather just go to sleep or laze around on the computer all day than help me fill up a bottle or clean up the kittens. Ugh, I suppose I should be used to being abandoned by my family. >< Even Amanda can't take in a few of the kittens because her mom doesn't like cats or something. Bull ****. She's the one who found them in the first place!
I suppose I can go a month without sleeping properly until I can find them proper homes. This is just such a weird situation, and such a bad time too what with the end of the semester drawing near as well as the hours at my job increasing. Oh joy, one of them is crying...I suppose I'll end this rant now then. Thanks for reading and commenting and all.
