Lower the rent of houses to -100% and lower the rent of shops to -60%, then go around town buying everything from every shop (except hair stylists and tattooists). Once all shops are sold out, sleep in a bed for seven days and repeat.

You won't make any money from buildings with a negative rent percentage, but it'll net you some purity points as well as raise the economy.

I tried the above process mentioned by a few of them, it was taking too long.
So i put new furniture in the houses.
Than it fixed it at a lot faster rate than my last attempts.

yes you do with houses lowering the rent to -100% you will get 0 rent, with shops i think you gte like 20 gold per 5 minuts i think the best way is to set the rent down to -100% and shops to -60% and then buy everything then sell it in fairfax gardens and when the econemy is high enough set it all back to 0% this way you are still getting money AND the econemy stays balanced
